  1. Another glitch with the Touch the Universe site occurred as I thought I was purchasing the Omnisphere bundle.  The coupon worked fine, and the price went to $60, and upon pressing the PayPal button, I received a receipt from a totally different customer in a different country.  As I look at the receipt now, it appears to be a 'test' receipt, as the invoice number is "testing."

I tried going through the support button at the top of the page, but other than my name, the form would not accept any of my messages.

I did send an email through an address l I had for Touch the Universe, and we will see if I get a response.  So far, my PayPal account hasn't been charged for this.  Maybe the universe is touchier than I realized and is trying to tell me I don't really need this!

  2. NA 3.4 kept getting stuck on ‘installing dependencies.’  And NI support just said ‘sorry, we are busy.’  Other than that, support never responded in over 2 months.

    I was not impressed.

hopefully the install of 3.5 will work around that.

  3. Omnisphere Software update

    Omnisphere 2 Software 2.8.5f

    3-28-23

Adds support for Keyscape's brand new "Double Felt Grand"

Fixes issue where Option/Alt+Clicking on the LINK Layers buttons did not link/unlink all layers together

Disables the MIDI Learn and Host Automation options for the Master Tune menu on the Settings page

I'd happily support a Waves ban so they get no free advertising here at all 🙂

Maybe their code name should be "Flats" instead of Waves in honor of their recent business acumen?

Kudos to Waves technical support, I got an email this morning within 12 hours of submitting the ticket with a simple "re-scan in Studio One" which I had already done and a detailed process if that didn't work.  Basically an reinstall with a bunch of other manual clean-up instructions, then re-install. Its all working fine. I am on V14 exclusively so this had the further advantage of removing several redundant Waves shells which has sped the VST scans up considerably.

    Vernon,

I have a bunch of old shells and currently on V 14.  Could you post the clean up instructions?  thanks!

Fixed crash in MacOS BigSur case sensitive

  7. The sudden announcement that Waves was going  subscription  really turned me off. Usually when this happens I move on to something else. Regardless of todays announcement I am definitely finished with buying anything new from them.

I have been traumatized, and it would take at least one year of free WUP to get me to even look in their direction again.

  8. Well, it seems that I am done with Waves.  Their stuff isn't that great that I need to pay for it over and over again.  I have a few of their plugins, but I have noticed that I have used them less over the last 2 years.

In some respects, this whole thing I call "life" is just a subscription in that on some level, I can't take it with me.  We all say that, but do we really know?

Some subscriptions in life I will continue to keep paying for like breathing, eating and enjoying the sunshine.  But other things like a Waves subscription plan? I will let that one go.

  9. I am a VIP member of Joe Gilder's Mixing School.  More recently, he sent out an email announcing a half-off sale of his mixing course.  While I haven't taken the course yet, a buddy of mine has and said it greatly improved his mixes.  Here is the recent email I received from Joe.  As an aside, Joe is very personable and has answered all of my questions very promptly!              *I have no affiliation, nor do I receive any remuneration from homestudiocorner.com"*

    "Howdy.

If you like getting my emails and watching my videos on YouTube, you'll love my mixing course.

It's called Home Studio Mixing, and it's on sale this week only for 50% off.

For the price of a cheap microphone, you can transform your mixes, guaranteed. (Like, really. Money-back guarantee if your mixes don't improve.)

I don't do sales very often, so grab this deal over at:
