  1. Too true. People think they need the latest doodad in order to be productive. If I'm honest with myself - I was more productive (i.e. finishing more songs) when I had less tools. But still, shiny toys are addictive...
  2. Way cheaper. https://www.adsrsounds.com/software-developer/moog/ Here's thread on ADSR sale that was supposed to end on June 30th but was extended to Aug 1st, it has some good info.
  3. Blue Cat's PatchWork 2.66 Free Update Dear Customer, We are happy to announce the release of Blue Cat's PatchWork 2.66, with a couple of improvements for macro parameters and MIDI control, as well as a few fixes (full change list below). This is a free update that you can download from the same location as the original full version (you may have to refresh the web page): Download link in your email What's New: Drag and drop macro parameters to change order / insert / copy. Macro Parameters & params assignments can now be saved and copied/pasted. The "Remove" macro command now removes the currently selected macro parameter instead of the last one. Macro LEARN mode is now disabled automatically when the Params Map Editor is closed. AAX plug-in now reports the recording status to hosted plug-ins (in recent versions of Pro Tools that support it). Synchronize multiple MIDI controllers: when "all channels" (0) is used for MIDI input control and "send MIDI events when parameters values change" is active, the plug-in now sends MIDI events to all other channels. Updated parameters layout for GUI-less plug-ins to accomodate plug-ins with multiple parameters. GUI-less plug-ins generic editor now follows PatchWork's zoom level. Improved plug-in loading time. Fixed a crash when opening the editor of a VST2 GUI-less plug-in that uses non-unicode encoding in its parameters (piz-midi plug-ins). Fixed plug-in slots display issue on Mac OS 10.9. Fixed plug-in slot menu issues when loading plug-ins with more than 22380 parameters on Windows. Enjoy!
  4. All of the web site demos for Genesis are dripping with reverb... is the moisture baked in or optional? I'd rather be able to use my own verbs (at least on occasion).
  5. Looks like they're currently having a sale with various discounts on a most (all?) their products. For example: Genesis https://audiobro.com/genesis/ is currently $189.00 53% Off from MSRP $399 - or is the sale price their normal price? (I'm not familiar with AudioBro)
  6. Nice that NI appears to be aggressively fixing bugs. Now if they could only make Kontakt v7 load and get through VST scanners as quickly as v6 did...
  7. Regular MSRP is $ 4,654 so if you have no OTS libs group buy price is over $2k. If you buy it in pieces you'll get orange slices for additional discounts on subsequent purchases. Edit: added quote from Greg & following info: Owning a library gets you a discount on any bundles containing it which is then discounted by the group buy and orange slices (from previous purchases) will give you further discounts to the group buy price.
  8. Yes, (so far) not seeing any issues.
  9. Luftrum is one of the top sound designers. If you're not familiar with his stuff it's well worth checking out.
  10. IKMs update information is a bit wacked on this - missing info. Yes there is an update via the Product Manager -updated my Windows VSTs for ToneX and the standalone app. But getting the pedal's firmware update required plugging in the pedal (no surprise there) AND running the ToneX app (think I had to click on the Librarian tab for firmware notice to show).
  11. Not seeing any updates for the ones I own , Inflator & Transmod. Last update for both of these was over 2 years ago (2021/2019).
  12. There's an additional 10% discount offer if you sign up for their emails when you go to their website.
  13. Get the demo here: https://unitedplugins.com/Mirror/ Try before you buy (advise I should but don't always follow). To my ears (of course YMMV) on the demo the plugin seems a bit glitchy when the next sound arrives before the first has finished playing. It looks like a cool concept that could be very effective if used properly.
  14. Whatever development program / framework Spitfires devs are using to compile their plugin is placing it in a subfolder PluginName.VST3 and the developer is pushing the whole folder into the installer setup instead of just the plugin. I've seen several other developers do the same thing and I've assumed that it's because they don't really use Windows (or else they would know better) and just market to it. Since Spitfire hasn't done this previously perhaps they have a new developer or installer builder on staff? Don't know but it's irritating that they didn't adequately test their app after making changes affecting how the Windows plugin gets installed or upgraded.
  15. Any idea how long this deal is good for?
  16. Is the free expansion worth the $50 savings you lose out on by not going for the previous offer instead? Except for the bundles - looks like the expansions cost $39 or less.
  17. I tried coupon on both the $299 & $499* packages and it failed. Which did you try it on? Does this coupon stack with the $50 (code: H6G46ECEGYHD) one mentioned in the other VSX thread? *would be useless on the $499 package as it includes all future updates/additions.
  18. "GETBETTERMIXES2023 discount code isn’t valid for the items in your cart"
  19. Yes - they install in separate folders (at least by default). Create a short cut to old version and change name slightly - like 'BitWig 4'. Install new version and create a short cut to it and you'll easily be able to launch either one.
  20. I don't think Melda lists what changes are different going from beta to beta, let alone from beta to official release... I could be wrong, just don't recall seeing such. https://www.meldaproduction.com/downloads 16.07 changes (from 16.06) MGuitarArchitect Added a global tuner, polytuner and global doubler to MGuitarArchitect. MDrumStrip Added Gate reduction indicator to all devices with a gate. MSuperLooper Added new parameter “Immediate loop switch” which makes the switch between loops happen immediately. MSoundFactory MPowerSynth Added piano view to MSoundFactory and MPowerSynth plugins, which allows you to play and view played MIDI notes. MWobbler Added analyzer and visualization for used filters. MDrumStrip Increased release time range for Tom & Tom bus devices. MOscilloscope Added Gain parameter. MTurboFilter Added FeedbackComb module. MTurboDelay Added input gain and dry/wet lock to all devices. Added “Nonlinear gain” feature to parametric & dynamic equalizers. Added “Key (in octave)” mode to MIDI / Note controllers. MDrummer Global FX enable and Follow MIDI is no longer loaded with drumsets. Various small changes and improvements. Fix MDrumStrip MDrumStrip was inducing latency in some devices. Fix AU GUI plugin size issues under macOS with multiple displays (Logic Pro, GarageBand). Fix Plugins could incorrectly store certain paths and text featuring some characters. Fix Mouse cursor behavior under macOS, when changing parameters (i.e dragging knobs). Fix MDrummer MDrummer could crash in Bitwig in some cases. Fix MDrumStrip Reverb in Tom bus device didn’t update all parameters properly when changing reverb algorithm. Fix Setup may have caused errors (able to skip) when merging presets. Fix Setting the default parameter value through the context menu did not update host automation. Fix Hacked a bug in Ableton Live causing text input in the main plugin to ignore backspace and enter keys.
  21. Maybe... here's what I'm seeing You'll get v5.0 and its features - but it still comes up as 8-Track. Maybe they haven't got the full upgrade/conversion ready yet... Edit: that's assuming that everything (all the bells & whistles) is/are not already there in all but the name. I'm not going to bother (at the moment) to dive in and verify if it's missing anything based the link below. https://www.bitwig.com/feature-list/ I don't have the time so I'll leave that to some other OCD forum member.
  22. LOL I was thinking the same thing! I've got pianos I've never even installed.
