Sorry. Cakewalk's web server glitched when I clicked submit. It disconnected me and duplicated the post multiple times.

Wavesequencer Release: Theia (Hyperion Synth Player)
TheSteven replied to Brian Lawler's topic in Deals
Lol, OK, sorry. Hopefully the bitemarks didn't break the skin. Theia is v1.0 - hopefully they'll get these issues straightened out in future updates. The dev is pretty responsive to feedback. -
Wavesequencer Release: Theia (Hyperion Synth Player)
TheSteven replied to Brian Lawler's topic in Deals
Quick play around... If you point the patch library location in one so that both use the same location - Yes. I'd point Theia to Hyperion's location because Hyperion folder has other data (Combi Patches) that it may need but that Theia doesn't use. C:\Users\Steve\OneDrive\Documents\Hyperion\Patches\DemoPatches C:\Users\Steve\OneDrive\Documents\Wavesequencer_Theia\Patches\FactoryPatches Note: you can only rename patches within Theia or Hyperion because patch name is embedded in patch. Renaming the Windows patch file (assuming same is true for MAC) does not affect the name that shows in the program. and you could have found all this out by using the demo versions... -
Zo you a dangerous mofo... Based on your comment I relistened to the DBX160 demo tracks and now 14 of my precious little buckaroos will never again nest with their siblings in my bank account. ?

Wavesequencer Release: Theia (Hyperion Synth Player)
TheSteven replied to Brian Lawler's topic in Deals
Possibly not since they both have separate patch file caches, - but please test and tell us! -
Wavesequencer Release: Theia (Hyperion Synth Player)
TheSteven replied to Brian Lawler's topic in Deals
I have same issue. They are aware of it... They do. Theia doesn't come with its own presets, it only shows/manipulates existing Hyperion presets. I originally thought it had its own presets - but I can't find any documentation or physical evidence (see further down) supporting that . Quote from https://www.tracktion.com/products/theia: When I compared the patch folders C:\Users\Steve\OneDrive\Documents\Hyperion\Patches\DemoPatches C:\Users\Steve\OneDrive\Documents\Wavesequencer_Theia\Patches\FactoryPatches all 587 Theia patches are duplicates of what's in Hyperion. -
Or you can get Teletronix® LA-3A Classic Audio Leveler $49 with Savings Code: DBX50 If you have one of $25 coupons that knocks it down to $24 Never been too wowed with the DBX160 compressor, back in the day only used it when my other options were tied up/in use.

Wavesequencer Release: Theia (Hyperion Synth Player)
TheSteven replied to Brian Lawler's topic in Deals
AAS Player can play patches of any current AAS library that you own and it contains the free demo library Swatches which has 8 free patches from every current AAS library. At the moment Tracktion does not have any thing similar. Tracktion Attracktive only plays Bioteck Sound Pack (not built-in) patches. from Tracktion user manual: "Attracktive is a premium quality instrument player built on the Acktion platform. It features the same powerful engine as our Biotek organic synthesizer. This free instrument is designed to be a player for our many Biotek Sound Packs" and Theia only plays Hyperion patches -

Since the forum was down I had to find this 'deal' on my own. Respect to Tracktion for extending Hyperion by creating a nice player and NOT charging Hyperion owners for it. Sonible should take a clue from Tracktion and SoundTheory (Gullfoss) that coming up with lite versions doesn't have to be a cash grab (can you tell that I'm still irate about this?). -
So you're stating up front that we're back?

There is a super easy way to add an icon to your existing Project templates. copy/rename your image file to the same name as your project template but with the appropriate last extension and put it in your template folder along side your Project template. For example if your template is name Basic+HeadphoneBuss.cwt the image must be named (if png) to Basic+HeadphoneBuss.cwt.png Load project template Save template Do a Save As, Save as type: Template, Go to Folder: Template Files and overwrite existing template. No other actions required. and as they say in London Bob's your uncle, i.e. done. Your Project template will now show up in the Start Screen with your chosen image as it's icon. Notes: I was playing around with image size - I've found that 170x170 images fill the space, larger images get truncated. This info may not be 100% correct but seem to apply with the limited time I invested testing things. If you're creating a new template (or renaming one) just have the image file already there before you save the template. It can be problematic to change the template's icon if one is already associated. Doing a save as/rename works if all else fails - rename image as appropriate and save as the template to appropriate new name. Glenn's method mentions earlier in the thread also works.

NA finally finished loading, CPU hit is now .7 to 1.2%. 1st run after an update on my system is always slow, assuming they have it rebuild/reload its cache. 2nd run came up in about 1.5 minutes (guesstamate wasn't timing it).
-
Installed! Edit: Takes a bit... It's now up and running but at still 'Loading Products'... Dang it's taking 30% of my CPU and killing my Internet bandwidth... Not seeing anything in the change log that was affecting me but always good to have the latest (usually). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Changes: 3.5.2 - 2023-09-07 Quick hotfix to address a case where a security rollout was unsupported by our NTK Daemon, blocking users from logging in. FIXED Addressed an issue where a security rollout caused users to be blocked from logging into Native Access Updated error message to link to knowledge base article for more information.

As I had stated YMMV... I indeed was way underwhelmed with its 'gazillion features'. But if you find it extremely useful then more power to you, hope it serves you well. If anyone loves the Lite version and thinks the additional features are worth the additional $15 then go for it. Don't let me or anyone else hold you back.

Their web certificate has expired (as you mentioned). When I try access the site Bit Defender blocks access like an angry dad when he discovers his teenage daughter is going to a party at a stranger's house with severe warnings, etc. but like her (after clicking through 2 or more sets of warnings) I can ignore the warnings and still go there.

iZotope Music Production Suite 6 is here - update from V5 for $41.16
TheSteven replied to ralfrobert's topic in Deals
TBH I wouldn't expect them to respond as any response may create a liability. The verbiage is (now) on their web pages to cover their keisters should iZotope/NI not be happy with out of scope users buying it. And verbiage itself technically answers the question. Yes either JRR or iZotope could have coded things to prevent out of scope users from either purchasing (please enter your MPS serial number to check if you qualify, etc.) or installing it but neither did probably because it's a friggin headache to do so and often has issues. -
Just curious... Do you by any chance recall what the CPU hit was for the lite version? The reason I ask is that the Full & Lite version are the same plugin - just various features unlocked when you register it as Full. It's possible that they both hit have the same CPU hit. Personally I was totally unimpressed by the Lite version and the Full version doesn't have enough (of anything for me) to warrant me spending the extra $ My recommendation is if you don't have PSP InfinitStrip that you throw your money that direction instead. Yes it costs more but in terms of bang for the buck (or Euro, Peso, Pound - what is the phrase out side the US?) you get so much more. But as they say YMMV.
