  1. Odd, if I download ADSR Sampler Manager from my ADSR account v1.2.0 download. If I re-purchase it and immediately download the purchase (or download it from purchase receipt) I get v1.8.4. I had so many issues with old version never completing scans, I'll check this out later (like next week) and see if things are now working.
  2. smart:gate by sonible - the content-aware gate - 30 day trial https://www.sonible.com/smartgate/ Same here - about $45 if I don't get dinged with conversion fees. Don't know if I need / want another gate... especially since I've got the Fabfilter one and that I rarely do anything creative or fancy with them. I'll have to demo it at some point.
  3. Upgrade is free if you see something like this saying it's included in your plan: otherwise the message is an advertisement to upgrade. Bitwig installs each version in a different folder. At least the Windows versions do, so I assume the Mac versions do as well. Older versions remain on your system till uninstalled. To run an older version of Bitwig in Windows you'll need to create shortcut for it. If you haven't installed the newer version yet - copy the current shortcut and rename it to, for example, "Bitwig Studio 3". Otherwise the current shortcut gets overwritten with each install. If you've already installed a newer version then you'll need to create a shortcut to the older one from scratch. Here's a screenshot from my system with the shortcut properties shown.
  4. Indeed it is... You're right 8 track to full Studio is $259. Don't know what the heck I was thinking... (multitasking mental error) Still better than $299 non-upgrade price.
  5. Want to save a couple of bucks with Bitwig Studio? Get an 8 track license, register it, then upgrade** to Studio - $129. Edit/Correction $259. If you can't get one from a friend - search KVR https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=43 for "8track" or Bitwig - you might score a free or cheap license. Note if you install 8 Track version of Bitwig - you'll get version 5. It's still 8 Track (not Essential version) but aside from missing unlimited track it looks like has all the v5 features. **Looks like upgrade price is valid till July 21st.
  6. I have heard good things about it, here are a couple of reviews from good sources... https://soundbytesmag.net/review-impressor-and-saturator-from-psp-audioware/ https://www.mixonline.com/technology/reviews/plug-ins/psp-saturator-impressor-plug-in-review I haven't checked it out yet myself, got too many irons in the fire at the moment. 30 day demo available: https://www.pspaudioware.com/products/psp-impressor
  7. 2 things dissuade me from even checking Avenger out. 1) the Tracktion synths are much, much cheaper (especially if you can pick one up on sale) and each wonderous in its own way. and there's reason #2... Odd that it comes with a 1,000 presets but you still need to invest in expansion packs... Couldn't they have dumped the canned presets and just included the good stuff instead? LOL, Being a bit of curmudgeon here, apologies. If this synth sounds good to you. you can justify the costs and does what you need then more power to you. Hopefully you'll have room in your audio garden for this new rabbit hole.
  8. Kontakt 7 is a big Irish Setter with that lustrous long red hair that your significant other would kill for - it may be beautiful but it's still a dog, a big dog. It still takes longer than any other plugin or DAW to load on my system - over 5 minutes each time; must be scanning every drive on my system every time it loads. I previously complained about this on a NI thread opened by the developers and aside from some hemming and hawing (it shouldn't do that...) from devs got nothing but snarky replies for other users.
  9. Depends... did you take the red pill or the blue?
  10. I'm probably missing something... I don't understand the need to recreate every step or mis-step along the audio road. I'm waiting for a plugin that realistic recreates to beauty and majesty that wax cylinder recording (with cactus playback needles) gave us. In this case: "Jump into the sound of early digital gear with HoRNet ADDA a plugin designed to emulate the analog to digital and digital to analog conversion process of the early digital gear. " So we now can recreate the digital artifacts that made people initially hate CDs (truly the most hated period of professional audio that some audiophiles have never gotten over) - and you can oversample it? Wow, sign me up. But like I said I'm probably missing something.
  11. Except the Traction doesn't have any Hyperion sound banks for sale... Not at the moment. Per Reddit: If they are coming out with a player I would expect the player and patch pack to debut at the same time. If the player version can only play patch packs and not the bundled patches I expect they'll include it with the patch pack.
  12. That deal at JRR on May 31st, 2023 $25 prior to discount code was the only time I've seen Hyperion go below $64. Using that price as a benchmark is probably just going to break your heart; I don't think it'll be back but we'll see what happens on BF. As far as the player is concerned I'd be really surprised if the player went for under $35 when released (maybe on sale for $25 with MSRP of $35). Paul is too good of a developer to waste his time coding a new product that'll sell for $11.25 (unless that's the price for owner's of Hyperion). Just MHO take it with whatever quantity of salt works for you.
  13. Interesting plugin... not sure how much I'll use it but for around $2.40 I'll pick it up. Edit: so Brian posts about Hornet plugin sale and Larry responses with link to Baby Audio sale that doesn't sell Hornet plugins... maybe I'm missing the punchline. Maybe I need another cup of coffee, or maybe Lars needs one. Do I really care? About the coffee YES; about this thread - probably not. Am I OCD? Magic 8 Balls says "All signs point to yes" but the Magic Seer says otherwise...
  14. I couldn't get my system to recognize the 4tb chip - was afraid that I had somehow damaged it. 😶 Then I checked the spec's on my laptop and discovered that the MB only supported up to 2TB SSDs 😒, newer models support up to 4TB chips. Was bummed, had already laid out plans for remapping my storage. I think I got it through NewEgg, they refunded me with no issues.
  15. My system can't use the 4tb version. I bought one at a previous sale and had to return it.
  16. You can create a free 30 day trial membership (that's what I did last week).
  17. Crucial P3 Plus 2TB PCIe Gen4 3D NAND NVMe M.2 SSD, up to 5000MB/s $75.99 Prime Day Deal -60% $75.99 List Price: $189.99
  18. You're probably timing a mass release for the day after I get additional storage... They say that nature abhors a vacuum, unfortunately the same principle applies to unused disk space. Still... looking forward to seeing what you come out with!
  19. Wup, Wup, Wup, Wup, Wup, Wup... The sound you hear when you're driving along your DAW and your Waves subscription runs out and goes flat.

  21. 20 to go! Watching the counter is slightly more fun than watching paint dry... I must be having a slow Sunday evening.
