  1. Where in that 340 page thread did you see that? By based do you mean they had access to the freeware versions code? or that they saw that version & said 'I can build a better one' and went and built their own?
  2. Here's link to Vital synth (in case you're looking) https://account.vital.audio/
  3. Out of curiosity what where you already using (and using now)?
  4. I know... iLok just feels more stable that whatever Moog's current financial/corporate situation is.
  5. You can use CableGuys Reverbshaper as an IR loader. Unfortunately, the BF sale just ended so it's now $39 but it's an awesome tool. Here's Dan Warrol walking you through it using it as such.
  6. Looks cool but at $59 it's going to have to wait till my wallet recovers from BF.
  7. Better buy >> aIR Impulse Rack on sale for $5 with code AA-BF-23 for $9.99 https://audioassault.mx/collections/plugins/products/air-impulse-rack Features IR Mixer with Tweakable Mic Position Serial/Parallel IR Processing IR Export Function Deconvolver Unlimited Slots FREE IR Library Included Resizable GUI Edit: updated post with discount code and updated price Also here's a video to the previous version (not sure what's changed in latest but GUI appears to have more options) Updated post: BF sale is over.
  8. FYI https://www.nembriniaudio.com/products/ir-loader $15.80 edit:
  9. It's a highly respected/rated emulation at that. It has zero latency and from what I recall a light CPU load (don't recall been ages since I checked, but never had it bog down a project). I have the other ones (listed previously in this thread) but still use this more than all of the others.
  10. Maybe share that I had sworn off spending another dime on anything related to 8dio and picked this up in spite of the obscene disk size. Still need to find disk space for it (and a couple of BF purchases) but hell froze over long enough for the Paypal payment to clear.
  11. Note to all - thanks to @jngnz I am good! Thanks for concern & suggestions 💖
  12. I am not a Facebook fan. Only go there to say happy birthday to friends/family and see videos of cats and 6 year olds smoking my ***** on guitar...
  13. You have to pay for a year subscription upfront and the interface is yours and the subscription is less than the price of the interface. Also the built in 1176 compressor is a nice feature. SOS mag review of Volt https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/universal-audio-volt If you were looking at picking up the Volt 2 interface this looks like a no brainer whether you have the UAD plugins or not. If you don't have all the native UAD plugins it's double win. If you don't want to subscribe for a 2nd year just cancel your subscription.
  14. Thanks! I'd given up getting the upgrade. I've been going back & forth w their support and getting nowhere. The Cakewalk forum and its contributors comes to the rescue once again!
  15. My only gripe is no BF sale on upgrade from Essentials to Platinum - still $200
  16. I too trust my ears and if I don't like the way a plugin sounds I don't care who recommends it. Re PID I've used it to verify what I was hearing more than just see the pretty curves, etc.. We all need a reality check now & then. So many plugin developers/vendors make these grandiose claims and have their snakeoil salesmen masquerading as recording/mixing engineers demoing their products: "and as I turn the #### knob you can hear the added #### on the ####, OMG that's so sweet!" and I'm hearing nothing or nothing close to what their describing. Am I missing something or it another emperor's new clothes scenario? Plugin Doctor can show you what's actually happening. Running a plugin through Plugin Doctor can be an education. How soft is that compressor/limiter soft knee? How come when I twist knob C, knob A's settings seem to change? Is this bus compressor muddying up my low end or is it something else? etc.. It can show you exactly what a plugin is doing, sometimes better that the documentation. You also see all kinds of shenanigans - popular plugins that just don't do what they claim, but have a very vocal following. Having said all the above - while I do use it, I don't use it often. It's just another tool that has it's uses but AFAIC at $23 it's a no brainer.
  17. I used the EWIC and had to contact support but a couple of emails back & forth and it was fixed! Under an hour in all, and only that long because I was working on other stuff.
  18. Don't know (apparently I had opted out of receiving their emails) but I would reach out to sales dept and layout the details (I was waiting for an upgrade bundle sale this year and didn't see one - last year it was XX, and that you have the LM6 bundle) and see if they'll cut you a deal. Worst case it that they'll say no (and then put a voodoo curse on you).
  19. Downloads for VOS: https://varietyofsound.wordpress.com/downloads/
  20. It looks interesting. So I caved and bought it. Now I just have to learn how to use it.
  21. argh*... and I just ran NA this morning. *mock aggravation, makes people think I'm doing something useful.
  22. Traded a used soul in for a variety of software and hardware. Time will tell who got the better deal.
