Aha @abacab ... I wasnt aware of what you said in bold, that CA had said this. I thought Filesilo had gotten broken and was open only for a while.

So one would wonder WHY bother with Filesilo anymore as it was very connected with the purchase of the mag

    From FileSilo FAQ:

"To improve both user experience and the general performance of FileSilo we have now opened up assets to all users, across all titles!"

So @abacab .. is Filesilo going to be free and open going forward? Is that the plan? If so how about some process then for people who pay/subscribe to CM? Will there be a seperate thing for us?

I'm a paying subscriber, and I only know the same details as you do. The company already posted in their FAQ that FileSilo will not be using passwords going forward.

We'll see what solution they present tomorrow for their premium freebie "specials" for subscribers like this deal. It will be revealed in that downloadable instruction sheet.

  3. I don't blame them for putting on the brakes for this deal.

Since this is not a "CM" version, and is a full version product with a serial number, the intent was probably for this to be a limited offer as are most of the non-CM suite products. They probably let this one slip thru with the new FileSilo plan, then realized they needed to re-think that bit.

  4. I'm going for the full Zebra Legacy on November 15th, which includes Dark Zebra!

Always wanted Zebra 2, but not at full price. Closest that I ever got was Zebra CM. I figure I will still get a few years of use before Zebra 3 drops!😂

    From the email announcement...

    =====================================================================================================================

Zebra Legacy Day: November 15th, 2022

    What is Zebra Legacy?

Zebra Legacy is Zebra2 with all our Zebra soundsets for free (including The Dark Zebra), all at the extraordinarily generous price of 99€. This allows us to continue maintaining Zebra2 for many years to come while we focus on Zebra3 development… and beyond.

    When will it drop?

Zebra Legacy will be available from our web store on November 15th, replacing all the individual products.

    =====================================================================================================================

I don’t own Zebra2 yet – what are my options?

You can either wait until November 15th and buy Zebra Legacy outright for €99, or buy Zebra2 now, get all soundsets for free on or after that date – and also maintain an upgrade path to Zebra3. So to make the best of your upgrade options towards Zebra3 we recommend buying Zebra2 before November 15th.

     NOTE:

As Zebra Legacy is such an incredible bargain, we will not be offering an upgrade path to Zebra3 for licenses purchased on or after November 15th!

So is Zebra3 on the horizon?

Although we have made great progress recently, please understand that we cannot quote an ETA for Zebra3 yet!

the video gave me the idea to route MIDI knobs from my Proteus 2500 into VM in such a way as to specifically control LFO's which in turn modify different parameters in different plug-ins in different ways.

Cool beans! I wish that my Roland JV-1080 had as many knobs as that Proteus does! You could easily control macros on several plugins with that!

It appears that both Unify and Voltage Modular plugins have MIDI out capability, so need to do some MIDI CC experiments! :)

Edit: I may have spoken too soon. Even though Unify does present a MIDI output to Cakewalk, I cannot find any way to route MIDI data out of the plugin itself... unless I am overlooking something. 🙄

Here's the MIDI signal flow diagram for Unify, for inquiring minds:

Looks like only a couple more days on this one and I didn't find a post or mention that Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus - Standard Edition is also free.  Apologies if you posted that and I missed it.  These make me even happier now that I am able to run Epic Games library games on my Steam Deck wooo hooo

Sorry, I didn't bother to post that one. Nothing against it, but just not my genre...

There are typically 2 new game freebies at Epic each week, and I generally only highlight one now and then that is of interest to me, not necessarily all of them. Occasionally I see 2 good ones, but frequently there can also be 1 or 2 duds from my point of view. So if you want to stay on top of them all, recommend bookmarking the site and visit it every Thursday. 😉

I couldn't understand why I was reported and banned. But I guess I need to disclose if I am using an affiliate link and some people don't link bitly links. I use these links to understand   my tracking information. I apologize for breaking any rules, I clearly disclose my affiliate relations of my website. I did not know I had to state it every time I shared a link. I saw other people not post this information and thought it was ok. However, I don't recall anyone warning me before banning me.

@SAMPLE SOUND REVIEWRe-read the moderator's sticky. No affiliate links, period!

Do I understand it correctly? A single LFO set up to output MIDI CC data is being used to do different things with different ranges for different parameters in different plug-ins?

If you watch the video, he walks through how to set it up in detail.

The key takeaway is that CC Rider is a MIDI plugin that you insert on a layer with just one instance of Unify. Then you embed another instance of Unify in that initial Unify instance to then build up your patch with any instruments or effects that you wish. The CC Rider in the top layer can be used to modulate the macro knobs (CCs) in the sub (embedded) layer.

Since MIDI effects must precede the instruments whose MIDI data is effected, that is a neat trick placing it at the top of the stack, where it can be used to modulate any CC # for any plugin, or multiple plugins, in the sub layer.

Agreed, I don't think general announcements about policies are a bad idea, they should help avoid posts that do not fit the current rules.  Why would you want to create more work and make moderation of the forum you enjoy far less efficient?

I say this as someone affected (you obviously won't see direct deal postings from me now that I see that post, no biggie I understand) and as someone who agrees with the no affiliate links rule too.  Especially with the precedent set by the most prolific deal poster here who never posted affiliate links even though he could have if he wanted to make a "cut" from the work done to post all of these deals.

I just hope to see others follow the rules if they are devs/companies and hope there aren't others who don't wear an affiliation to a company on their sleeve which is something I'm proud to have made a condition of my employment at IK from the start (about 13 years ago) and something which I feel strongly about in general.  Now you won't see direct deals posted by me (unless I have a brain fart which can happen time to time and I expect to get admonished accordingly if that happens) but anything I post will clearly be from IK officially and I think that's even more powerful when the ability to post deals "for profit" or have products in dev/company signatures. So in short, even those affected seem to think it is  a good thing.

Basically TL;DR I respectfully disagree with OP even though I'm affected directly.

Hey Peter, you can still post your ikmultimedia.com link in your signature!

That way one click will reveal any current promotions featured on your main page!

A good idea to get the free Kontakt Player libraries where you can - I could be wrong on this, but I think you can upgrade to full Kontakt with some of them, even if it means waiting for the Summer of Sound.

    That's exactly how I did it! :)

It is understandable that the Wookiee forum administrator wants to simplify his work by warning in the forum headers about the forbidden and so on, but...?

As it should be. The Wookiee is an unpaid volunteer, so you feel he should have to work harder because people cannot behave?

With CC Rider you can modulate UNLIMITED parameters in ANY Plug-ins your patch has loaded - with a custom waveshape of your design. For example, change synth parameters in Serum while changing distortion settings and reverb settings - ALL FROM ONE CC RIDER!

Ran across this short video from Skippy demonstrating Unify 1.9.

The new modulation abilities look impressive! :)

This is got to be a joke.... you realize your on cakewalk forums, right?

This deals forum is a sub-forum of the Coffee House, open to music related discussion that is not necessarily Cakewalk related.

There are users of many DAWs in here, even including some non-Windows users. So enjoy some diversity! :)

Ah thanks for that. What a pity. One for the recycle bin then!

Right! That's just the way NI works. Pay them a licensing fee for a serial number, or else!

That's why it's uncommon to see free products for Kontakt Player, although a few exceptions do exist...

  16. I used to have a Cakewalk (Roland) A-300PRO hooked up with Sonar via the ACT Control Surface. It was a bit fiddly to initially get set up (and that was years ago), but seemed to work OK. But ACT never really clicked for me.

After moving on to several different MIDI keyboard controllers I have left ACT behind for now, and just use the MIDI CC learn for the few plugin controls that I want to control, no special setups required beyond using MIDI learn in the plugins.

But my current controller, an Arturia KeyLab 61 Mk II, has a dedicated plugin mode (Analog Lab, but that works for direct manual MIDI learn in any plugin that supports MIDI learn), and several dedicated DAW modes, including Cubase. I setup a Mackie Control Universal (new Cubase Mode) surface in Cakewalk and that works fine as a track and transport controller in CbB.

When I want to control plugins directly with CC, I just switch my controller to Analog Lab mode. One click back and forth on the controller front panel between that and DAW mode with Mackie Control is quite reliable. I find this way of working much more intuitive, at least for me.

So if your controller supports "Mackie Control Universal" and Cubase, it might just be worth a try with the new "Cubase Mode" option recently added to CbB. I'm not saying that you would need an Arturia controller, just one that properly supports MCU and/or Cubase. No specific recommendations for hardware, as I have only tried this with the controller I own.

Yes, that was the LE and this is the CE.   This new CE version is for MNDALA 2.

Just to add for clarification, both new LE and the CE versions are for MNDALA 2.

The original UDW is for MNDALA 1, and like all of the other original v1 sound sets, they will be eventually migrated to v2.

I have the updated Rasa and UDW-LE working OK in MNDALA 2. Still running the originals in MNDALA 1.
