  1. This is an excellent video from Mike! Very good overview of the AD2 individual output routing in Cakewalk!

The old Cakewalk website posted a useful AD2 drum map and template back in the Sonar days. It's still good in CbB!

A couple of weeks may narrow the trend, but so far it seems consistent with getting at least a 6- or 7-for-1 deal out of it, just from the numbers available.

That's the math talking. Bravo! :)

You quoted me out of context. Thanks. 🤪

Just look at the top-level domain in the link you so generously supplied. Promoting such links in this forum is hardly in accordance with forum rules.

The top level domain checks out as clean with a number of URL scanners. :)

But that still does not guarantee that the actual seller has any scruples...

I was amazed at how well Discover sounds..and it's only a few hundred Megabytes

I have Discover and I added the Unify library for it from PluginGuru (good for Discover or Core). Skippy and team did a nice job with that!

You will need to already own Unify and BBCSO to use it...

The BBC Symphony Orchestra plugin by Spitfire Audio is a wonderful entire orchestra in a single plug-in. Given the patience to sequence out multiple tracks, it is a very convincing sounding! BUT….. What if you would like to play it LIVE? All 5 String Sections, all 5 Woodwind sections AND all 5 Brass Sections, on the keyboard, ready to knock your socks off? There is only 1 way to pull this off and then change to another of over 180 variations/combinations of these instruments = In Unify! And this is just the beginning!

We reviewed Toontrack’s Superior Drummer 2 back in December 2008 and, with numerous updates and new expansion-pack content since then, SD2 has maintained its position as one of the most popular choices for musicians wanting a top-end virtual acoustic drummer — despite some undoubtedly brilliant competition. However, Superior Drummer 3 is now upon us and, almost nine years on, I think it is fair to say that expectations are high. So, just how have Toontrack attempted to make Superior, well... even more superior?

    SOS article from 2017

    Pros

Brilliant workflow for drum part construction.

    Enhanced mixing and effects options.

    Sophisticated drum replacement features.

The new acoustic kits sound incredible.

    Cons

More expensive than SD2 (but certainly great value for money).

Will undoubtedly mean less work for real drummers.

You’ll have the problem of making everything else in your mix sound as good as the drums.

  7. Toontrack is a good company! I have several of their products, and they seem to keep things up to date, and provide excellent support.

As a non drummer, I picked up EZDrummer rather than SD3, which meets my needs for now. It's good to know that there is an upgrade path! Plus Toontrack is always releasing new expansions.

I also have XLN AD2, and a number of ADPack expansions for it. It's still a functional product, but it now seems like ages since any new AD-Packs have been released. I will say XLN still provide updates and support, but don't seem very interested in leading the market...

Does this not work with the serial numbers I got from Beat magazine?

I activated Syntronik J-60 and Black 76 today, but the promotion did not appear.

Freebies do not count. Are you surprised by that?

...but I worry about the company health of BFD from fxpansion to the new owners.

IMHO, there is a questionable track record with inMusic regarding ongoing support and updates for the products that they have acquired. I have several other products that were once good, and are now languishing under their ownership...

I would advise a wait and see for inMusic.

  10. I got Neoverb in a bundle, but haven't had time to fully learn it yet. It seems like it would be a useful tool, based on a combination of Exponential Audio reverb tech and iZotope intelligence. Probably worth checking out at this price point. Free trial!

These classic synth textures have been created from the infamous Solina String Ensemble — a 70s string synthesiser used on countless iconic disco and rock records — sampled at Spitfire HQ. From fuzzy, warm vibrations to bright stabs that cut through the mix, LABS Synth Strings comes complete with sampled modulation and processed pads — equally at home on a Herbie-style record as it is on a Blade Runner-style blockbuster template.

    Very nice surprise! :)

I never got that much into that Larry. I have tried and I just stink at it to be honest.  So I always pass on the Amplitube stuff. See lots of folks raving about it but I guess in my world of more orchestra type sounds I might be okay taking a pass.    Sorry Peter looks like you won't get my money this time around :)

If you ever use a virtual bass, the Ampeg stuff in AT might be worth it... just sayin... 😉

It will, its the registration date not the bought date that counts. But there is no way to check this out beforehand, although you could ask IK support.

And if you bought that qualifying license on sale, good deal!

IK uses the actual retail price for the qualifying product as the price match for the group buy freebies. not what you actually paid! I did this last time. Bought a license for an IK  crossgrade from a 3rd party retailer at a huge discount. Then I registered that with IK and got all of the group freebies based on the full retail price!

  14. Nice surprise!

Since I already have all of the qualifying products that I'm interested in, thanks to last year's group buy, I will have to sit this one out...

But this is a great opportunity for those that do not already have all of the IK products they want to catch up! :)
