Thanks for posting this. Intersting to watch.
I am still using my low tech x-touch mini that azslow3 helped create a profile for. Works great.

Not really sure to be honest. I suppose the coffee house might be suitable but I haven’t seen a forum for hardware, plug in deals, Computers either.
Maybe they are trying to simplify things, focusing on bandlab software. Not sure
Deals is a subforum to the Coffe house.

Looking as happy as ever I see

Will the old forum go away?
In a couple of weeks' time, the old forum will become read-only, at which point you will no longer be able to post. However, we feel (and have taken your recommendations) that it remains a vital resource for the long term and we intend to keep it hosted and to remain in its current place at https://forum.cakewalk.com.
This is the only information we have about that topic afaik. But to me that is enough, it will be open a couple of weeks for new posts and then read only for what I interpret as forever-ish. Or however long forever means these days.:) No exact dates but then again what difference would knowing that make really?

I don't know how it would have anything to do with this forum. If you had a large post count on the old forum and it were brought over here it says nothing about how helpful one has been here. In fact it could be mistaken for quality.
If it were done it maybe appropriate to note where it came from.
Agreed, I dont really care on way or the other but kind of strange to drag that old stuff in here to a new board with people with ZERO relationship to the old board. But if people feel that stuff is important to them for some reason I doubt people would mind. Only the ones who care about post numbers will look a them anyway so ... no harm to the rest of us I guess

I agree with you. Its a nice and more modern feel and I am sure in time the valuable information will start to build up in here too and the old forum can gracefully dissapear into the ever growing graveyard of sites of the past

Well in studio one a chord track can
a) be detected from audio (where the chords are unknown)
b) be used to change the MIDI and Audio
c) be used by collaborators to track to "project you give them)"
In the case of b) you can enable all tracks (non-percussive of course) to all react to changes in the chord track. Is that slick or what?
so a) is a substitute for good ears ? People should train their ears instead of not knowing what they hear. Its like writing a book without knowing the difference between a and z
b) sounds interesting
c) not sure what this means, another ear substitute?

what is the point of chord tracks ? Am I missing something ?

I use it as a tool to play and write (better staff please!) music, strangely enough Mostly I use it to play instruments to my own tracks in order to become better at playing the instruments.

Better staff would be my biggest request too. All these chord tracks and shit can be put on the backburner Lets get serious about staff instead. I was so bummed out when I read Overture was basically offering to give itself away for inclusion with Cakewalk but Gibson made yet another of its bad business decisions.
We will see I guess, to me a great staff feature would make the program complete in my eyes. Not sure I am in the majority though, I fear the chord track, click and add crowd will win out. I am only semi serious so dont be upset

The bummer is the limitations on the sig. That is so 1980s.
Some would argue that overuse of signature space with pics and weird fonts/colors is what is so 80's

They intentionally left it out to save us from spending money on crap we don't need, and focus on the music. Maybe

Thanks guys! Now lets put some stink/funk into this forum to make it live

If its guitar related stuff then the bult in Th3 is not bad and Guitar rig player would also work https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/guitar/guitar-rig-5-player/
Maybe you already use both though

Lets all be equals and start with a clean slate people, new board and all! User counts is kind of what 5 year olds care about, no?
See it as a chance to rid yourself of old sins.

First order of business on any forum is to disable the signatures imo. I was glad to find that this new board had that feature too so I can avoid all the eye sores
