  1. I think I figured it out. The FX16 has monitor outs that I can use to send a mix of both the mic and the audio while only sending the mic to the main out to be recorded.
  2. I think the trick is using one of the subs to route the audio to a sub-out where I can connect to some headphones (to keep the monitor audio isolated) and route the mic line to both the sub (for monitoring) and the main (for recording).
  3. I am using the USB port on the Mackie. So I think the issue is trying to figure out how to route the audio so that I can monitor through headphones the music/backing track coming from the computer and the voice over/vocal from line 1 on the Mackie while recording only line 1 from the Mackie.
  4. I am looking for a detailed technical document that describes the format of the instrument definitions file. I have searched the Internet looking for something that can explain the use of the "*" adequately. Is there a comprehensive document somewhere that details the format and structure of the instrument definition file?
  5. I have one track with music and I want to record a separate track with voice over. How to I setup the channels in Cakewalk so that I can hear the music track and record only the voice over?
