  1. I love Garbage. I never liked Nirvana. I did not like the Pumpkins either. I had no idea Butch was a founding member of Garbage! I watched the whole video though. Imagine my surprise when I realized he was the drummer for Garbage!
  2. And they kept your money, made interest on it, and then blame you for not getting in touch with them.
  3. Wow! That's our government working!
  4. Beginner doesn't come to mind when I read that too! I have a message in to a Stewmac instrument tech about the neck and body drill holes. I will wait to see what they say about it. This is some more real world application experience I was hoping to find. Thanks for that info. I am sure it will help those watching this thread and maybe even later on down the road. Me too! It was a while before I learned to tape off my open coiled pups when ever I used it! Thanks for the safety tip Kenny. Let me also add he is not joking one bit. This stuff will start a fire on it's own. No spark needed.
  5. Yes I was. Thinking of something dark, put a thin layer then wipe it off. Let it set and see how it looks. I have had munitions delivered to the house and never had to signed for them!! Wow! Come to think of it, I haven't done that in several years. Maybe it's changed?
  6. I found it!! Thanks for the idea. Looking at it now.
  7. And that's why I am torn between Stewmac's Z file or one of the cheap ones off Amazon. Heck I might even give the ole "Modified by Grinder" triangle file a try on some old guitar I got laying around here. Just to see what it feels like and how I can get to the fret. I am gonna build me one. That much I have decided on. And it will be the S-style kit from Stewmac. Looks to me like the holes are drilled in the neck already. So it may be only a process of putting it on, or maybe putting some shims in to get the angle I want. That's what this guitar will be about. Trial and error, discovery, do I really wanna go further with this!! Like @kennywtelejazz said, "It's an adventure! Take it!!"
  8. I'm sure it is Starship!! It's just my perfectionist part coming out!!
  9. Did they give away "Audio Track" once? Laugh at it if ya want, but it is a great little channel strip. Does almost everything you want and low in CPU.
  10. Maybe the best explanation yet. I think what it said, iirc, is that the serial numbers obtained before 26Mar23 must be registered by the 26 for that number to be used. After that date that number would no long be able to be registered with the new system coming on line.
  11. Nothing to see here... Move along... And remain calm.
  12. This will be coming in a few days. I already have a straight-edge that I got off a ship (they use them for plotting). I will use it to check the accuracy of the cheap one. $12? Can't beat that price. That notched edge and the rocker tool should help with all my guitars. Might get that small fret kit too. I have seen the finished work of thier painting kits. And I like the work I saw. Looked very professional. However, I like natural wood finishes. So that's probably the way I will go. Probably the TruOil stuff you recommended. I will try that and see if I like the finish. I have done some reading and it seems Tung Oil (which I like and have used for other projects before) and TruOil are close in appearance. Seems TruOil has better protection than Tung Oil. I think I want to stay away from polyurethane though. Thanks for all the pointers Starship.
  13. The friend that built my "custom" guitar sold it to me so he could get Warmoth parts to build him a guitar. He still has and is playing that "Warmoth" guitar to this day.
  14. That really remains to be seen. That's kinda where all of us are, questioning the "what ifs". I can make the assumption that because this change will not effect current users, that there is no need to explain anything. And it ends there. We can speculate after that all we want!!
  15. I will take it a step further and say that most if not all pros have all they need. All the hardware and all the emulations they need. They will not allow one company to try and suck blood out of them for nothing. Those pro studios and engineers want something in return. And what does Waves have to give them? Like I said, they have all the coveted hardware and many different versions of emulations of them. So what would they pay Waves for on a continuous basis? It was one thing when everyone was trying to emulate say, the Pultec EQ. Waves sat at the top of the heap and could charge what they could get the market to pay. Now everyone can create a very good Pultec. Waves has to sell to us for $29 to stay in business. Now that we all have all the Waves we want, what have they got to give us? The Pros don't need them, we don't need them... what wi they do next? Charge a subscription for what? Brilliant I say!! Brilliant! Unless they got some game changer up thier sleeve. I just don't see this as anything but a last grasp.... Larry may be correct in that they will still offer perpetual licenses for all their plugins. But at what price? I am like Bapu, gonna wait this one out. And hope "we don't get fooled again"! [TOTP!!]
  16. That's the deal breaker. Yep. For me at least. If it was, why did they invent the "$29 plugin?" My point being is, I don't think it is.
  17. I believe that we are spiritual beings. And we communicate feelings and ideas through a complex web of ways that we yet don't understand. Sound is one of these known ways. How that information is communicated isn't yet known or understood. But there is overwhelming facts that prove that information is delivered and received.
  18. Me too. Sure was a nice run. Here we are complaining and moaning about a sub plan, but what if it is at good price? Hey I can dream if I wanna!! LOL
  19. Yep. So as much as I love my Waves stuff, it's goodnight Irene for me. I will keep on using what I can as long as I can. After that I won't buy Waves anymore. And if all plugins go the sub route, I will freeze my machine in a working state until I no longer need it. I am getting up there in age. I am pretty sure I can hold out till the end!!
  20. Now I remember. Thanks Larry.
