  1. Acustica Audio plugins are a prime example of just that. The demos & purchase versions can vary.  They also usually don't provide all sample rates for their demos which could affect the sound.

I've actually had it happen to myself a few times, where I prefer the demo over the purchased. Others have posted the same on forums over the years.

  2. I just received this email this morning so I take it it's not resolved. Feels like I'm in the middle of a divorce dispute with a couple that i don't know.

Since it wasn't sent from 2CAudio directly someone else not knowing the back story might think it's a bit 'phishy'..

After 8 years there's something to be said for a clean install. Clean registery and so on. Just sayin.

That's what I do, takes about a week but the performance is better it seems. Kind of like spring cleaning, only the software, plugins I use or want get installed..

  5. I don't know why anyone would cringe unless it's about the color, poorly fretted or fret sprout issues. I've never played one myself but hear it's in between, warmth of rosewood but snappier with the attack of ebony or maple.

I do seem to notice that new import guitars (such as teles) are heavier these days, 8 lbs+.., that would bother more than the neck being Pau Ferro. Also the pups & electronics usually suck on imports.

Always best to play the guitar if you can, all that can go out the window especially where major brands are concerned.

Surely you mean you haven't missed it Aether... (sorry - bad joke)

Too bad. I was thinking of maybe picking something up from them at around Black Friday this year; I might reconsider. I remember a similar thing happened with Sample Modelling - they had an internal dispute during which the SWAM instrument line was unavailable for purchase. They eventually separated into two companies: Sample Modelling for the Kontakt libraries, and Audio Modelling for the SWAM instruments.

lol, they are nice reverbs but after reading a few of those posts I wouldn't invest any money in them..they shot themselves in the foot by posting in public..

I was hoping for a vst3 to install Aether again but it doesn't look like that will be happening anytime soon (or any new updates ftm).  I hope their issues can be worked out but it appears there will always be bad blood between them..it's unfortunate...

I've had Aether ever since it came out. I paid $149 long before the plugin price wars came out.  There are no shortage or reverbs these days.

Same here, IIRC it was a bit high in cpu, good quality but have equal or better alts, uninstalled a few years ago. Haven't missed it either..

Not my favorite genre but I'm blown away by the musicianship.  Most excellent performance!
