  1. Whew.  I use all of these pretty often.  Shadow Hills is a must for me on 2 mix when working on 'heavy' music.  If you see the video were they A/B against the hardware, the hardware is better, imo, but it's still quite useable and gets at least 85% of the way there.  The Magnum K is wizardry voodoo science fiction on vocals- I've used a pair of the hardware or this plug in on every vocal I've mixed since I got them.  The BAX is really great on stereo guitar buses and stereo synths, and is a good Baxandall type Eq.
What a time to be alive.

Ok all you say it's pretty sweet (thanks for taking ur time) but Autogain still shows the Input knob labeled as Input. I clicked on the presets to no avail (some of them have autogain on). Perhaps this is because I am using the Trial one? I don't know :P

    Not like this?
If not, you might want to let their support know and give them your specs (DAW, OS, PC, plug in format, blood type, favorite flavor of gatorade, etc).

Where is that hidden? In a black plate? Where do I click to show that?  All I have is input, low, low mid, mid section, high mid, high, output, that knob is knowhere to be found, lol.

Click "auto gain".  You'll see the 'input' knob change.  Without this, I can understand your comment.

When you decrease it on Pre1 (dirtier than pre2- more of a smiley face sound that's kinda hyped), you'll noticed it get tamed.  When you decrease Pre2 (you'll hear a smooth bump around 10k), you'll notice much less of a difference.  It does nothing when no pre is selected.  Turning them up will be obvious (again, unless you have no pre selected).

I can' t recalll when i was so un' exited by a piece of gear hyped on around .... mmm maybe the CLA's NS 10 ?

    Bawhahaha.   Oh man, that's BRUTAL.

It's just an eq, like a passive one, now I know better. I saved 135 euros by not buying it. Sonically it's more transparent and clean than others, but doesnt sound amazing.

If you don't like it, that's fine...  but to say it's transparent completely ignores the "pre" section and feature set.  I mean there is literally a harmonics knob.

Some interesting, reasonably priced unique stuff there, particularly this plugin.

Just for clarification, this is a stand alone program, and a plug in.  It comes in 32 and 64 bit versions.  It's very useful in tracking some funky stuff down, and measuring certain aspects of plug ins.  I highly recommend it, and Metaplug in, if you need to wrap plug ins in certain DAWs.  Magicdeatheye is also pretty good and Chord Detector is helpful, although not always 100% perfect.  The others are kinda hohum to me.

  6. I own 2 of their product.  $549.00 upgrade pricing.  This appears to be $50 less than just buying the bundle outright.   I was hoping to legitimize some of their stuff on my rig.

  7. Got it.  Sounds really fantastic.

It’s not surgical.  It also performs better than the other Acustica stuff (doesn’t take 10 seconds to load, etc).  Super musical and kinda “just works”.  Highly recommend the demo.

  8. BuyDig via Google Shopping has Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Studio USB Audio Interface & Recording Bundle (2nd Gen) on sale for $166.50 - 10% w/ promo code 19PREBF10 = $149.85. Shipping is free.

Again- note that this is 2nd gen.  It was on sale for a couple bucks cheaper a while back in memory serves.  Also, keep in mind the plug in collective Focusrite has.

  9. You can scale the UI from 100%, 90%, 80%,  and 70%.

There's 2, 4, 8, and 16X oversampling so if you're running low on DSP, you can scale it back.

The THD tweeker knob (+/- 30) is pretty sick.  Tobias Lindell is an active audio engineer, so he self scrutinizes his stuff a lot before it's even tested by other people.  This is also why he tries to hit a price point that's acceptable from the hobbyist to the seasoned full time pro.
