Wonder if that's the guitar that Bryan Adams bought and played until his fingers bled? (reference to lyrics of Summer of '69)

Or did you mean: if 1 3 4s in the 4-rest, does it make a sound?

I was commenting on the completeness of their test cases - not whether or not any app (I took Facebook as an example) is spying.

I don't use Facebook. And honestly I don't know whether other apps are spying on me: I don't actively believe they are, but I wouldn't be surprised if I found out they were.
33 minutes ago, Promidi said:Even with the official Facebook APP installed, the Facebook App does not listen to your conversations all the time.
I didn't say it was spying on me all the time. I didn't even suggest it was spying at any time. I was saying the test cases in that article were lacking in completeness.
38 minutes ago, Promidi said:If it did, can you imagine how fast your battery would drain and how much data would be required for it to do that..? Being the user of a DAW (with your knowledge of how much space audio data actually takes) you should be in a better position to release that.
That's a very good point: as you say, both battery life and data usage would be significantly affected. With all of this security scrutiny going on, it would be a very silly thing to do. I didn't once actively suggest that the Facebook app is spying. However, Facebook did sell/release phone numbers that were supposed to be used only for 2FA to marketing.

See:Unfortunately, their test plan doesn't include use cases where apps such as Facebook are open, or the phone is in use; only where they
QuoteClose all apps on the device, disable automatic app updates, and lock the phones
The results may or may not differ, but it would be interesting to include that test case.

There's one part at around 3:30 where she starts the vocals with the plugin bypassed, but then switches the bypass off; it sounds a little bit different, but the change doesn't ***** away.
Edit: wow... forum language censor... let me rephrase that so it doesn't use the word 'blow': 'but the change doesn't make all that much difference to my ears'

One plugin to rule them all, One plugin to find them; One plugin to bring them all
and in the darkness bind them.
(hmm... sounds like iLok manager?)

I just reread what I wrote above and want to clarify: I'm not in any way attempting to suggest that FabFilter's plugins aren't pro; they sound brilliant, and many other people think so too. And I'm also really glad that they don't use iLok.

Don't worry about it - I wasn't offended.
To be honest, I'm more concerned about the aftermath of my GAS; at least I've built up my sound palette now. Here's to making more music! ❄️⛄❄️⛄

Some people love ilok: the single account thing does sound like a plus.
I've stayed away but that's my own personal decision. I was once tempted by some EastWest libraries, but found some alternatives (that also don't use the Play engine). More recently, I've been looking for a good reverb and most of those are ilok protected; then I found out about FabFilter. It is disappointing though to see some great deals on plugins to find out they use ilok; my personal justification is that I'm just a hobbyist, and I don't need such 'pro' level plugins.

Nice fun, up-tempo tune; I wouldn't be surprised if the soloist collapsed around one minute in though 😀
Maybe a few breathing spaces between the phrases might help to make it feel a little more realistic.
Great work though - I enjoyed listening to that

Nice story, but I 'm not buying this:
"The winter season was not assigned to any month, so the year only lasted 304 days, with 61 days unaccounted for in the winter."
It might be true, it might not: I didn't write that, nor do I consider myself a historian of any kind. Given how calendars and beliefs have changed though, I personally wouldn't find it to be too much of a leap of faith: it may or may not have been that people would do different things during each month and the winters were too cold. Just my own personal speculation; don't have anything to back up that theory.

Happy New Year everyone!
1 hour ago, Soundwise said:incquiring minds want to know why December, which is literally the tenth month out of twelve, is considered to be the last month of the year? Shouldn't we celebrate NY somewhere in March?
Apparently, yes and no. According to
https://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/months/december.html
December was the last month, back when the calendar only had 10 months, and it began with March. It was only later that another two months were added.

Interesting string ensemble. I like the contrast of sustained legato violins, and the pizzicato (?) basslines. Overall, there's a flowing feel to this, especially with the violin solo bridge. There's also a nice change in dynamics throughout where specific string sections take turns, and also play together. Well done!
