I believe they were part of the Cakewalk Sonar content (loops/one shots) that came bundled with Sonar Platinum.
You can always download that loop content from your Cakewalk Command center and reinstall it.

TASCAM 1608

One thing I overlooked once (and I felt like a fool) was the USB Cable itself. It would work but intermittingly.
I also had a problem with a bad USB port once (I bent it, pinning a device cable). Trust me I've been through almost every thing in the book when it comes to this department so hang in there and we can try to problem solve it.

Absolutely the Tascam drivers. Did you get them here
https://www.tascam.eu/en/downloads/US-16x08
There's also a firmware update on that page as well.

I've plugged my USB device in to the wrong port before (this is how I know ). I speak from my own experiences/mistakes.
It WILL work sometimes but stability is a huge factor. Its simply unstable. IE - Crashes, drop outs, freezes.
I would uninstall the driver then continuously use the same USB 2 port.

My USB ports have never failed to respond, that could be a hardware or device issue.
What im referring to is when you install ASIO drivers for a device, you are prompt to choose a port and plug in the device. This same port must be honored in the future when plugging that device in.

You can zoom vertically using your mouse.
- Hover your mouse in the timeline until it turns into a magnifying glass.
- Left click/Drag up or down.

Make sure your plugging the Tascam in to a USB 2 port and not a USB 3 port.
Also make sure when installing drivers to always plug in to the same USB port, don't go switching ports every time.

Is it possibly you engaged "Offset mode" by accident ?

plus it creates and stores a project and file
That should not happen, when you exit Cakewalk, the project file should no longer exist.

I use an SM 58 as well, but typically only live. In the studio... one needs to create a slightly different sound, one that even high quality dynamic microphones just cant cut it. So I use a condenser mic for 95 percent of vocals (along with a high quality pre amp).
My first choice is the most realistic one of course...and that's "what I own" (a Rode NTK and a Rode NT1000)

I'll post my real ones in a bit.

possibly some of these PC's are using an older version of Cakewalk By Bandlab ? I know Pow-3 was not included in earlier versions, possibly this is what's happening here.
POW-R Dithering is owned by the POW-R Consortium and it needs a license to be used in Cakewalk, Bandlab made a choice to not include some of these add on's that required licenses in the early stages (and with good reason, they were more focused on resurrecting Sonar).

I know in X3 Producer there's a feature that is not on by default, called Auto Track Zoom, which is quite cool.
I can see not everyone reads previous posts before commenting

Ya there's no getting around this one. Good feature request though.
I sniffed around this a bit and the only work around I could come up with is Screensets. They will save the state of the track in expanded/collapsed views.
- Using Screenset 5 collapse tracks 1 and 2.
- Using Screenset 6 expand tracks 1 and 2.
- Toggle between Screenset 5 and 6 using the numbers (top row 1-9) on your keyboard
Its raw, but if your working with groups of tracks it might be a band aid solution. I also thought about the possibility of using a control group, but expand tracks is NOT included.
Note- I mentioned using Screensets 5 and 6 but only as an example (Though I would personally keep 1-4 open for views= PRV, Console, Exc).

Im not sure if this still works or not but I do seem to remember someone suggesting to - Try logging out and then back in again of the Bandlab Assistant.

I believe this is the reason they created Auto zoom (Click the Track view Views menu and select Auto Zoom). Though I must admit, I never found a good use for it.. because most times I want more than one track expanded.
I don't believe there is any shortcuts to expand tracks. I could be wrong but I've never come across them.

Are you using the Focusrite 212 ASIO driver ?
That could be part of the pan issue as well if monitoring is not being sent through I/O's correctly.

Now I see why that "Import Screenset" is grayed out. Seems like an awkward way to do.
The reason it is greyed out is because you need to have both projects open in order to import screensets.
1- Open project you have created your screensets in.
2- Open new project.
3- In new project use the import screensets function.
As mentioned earlier, its almost easier to just make a project template with all your saved screensets because they are indeed saved with project templates. Lenses is also a more in-depth feature for this use. as well.

Ok. Now I feel like an idiot. I didn't even notice the gain knob on the interface. I kept thinking it was onscreen on cakewalk. I'll try that. Thank you!
Simple mistake when first diving into digital audio. The gain is always set by the Audio interface itself not Cakewalk.

that's quite the Performance screen. Either you're CPU is about to blow or it's showing a row of matches
Not sure what that has to do with the subject but this screenshot was taken while doing a test on plug in load balancing.

I would prefer not to be using my full real name on forums, I signed in through Bandlab. Unfortunately, I also seem to be unable to delete a post once it has been posted here. Are there any options to change these things here? thanks.
Edit: Nevermind, worked it out! But still cannot delete a post once posted, is this the way it is supposed to work?
That's the way it worked on the old forums (cant delete posts). Just edit the post and leave the tag "Removed". Its basically the same thing.
The problem with deleting posts is it leads to confusing and dysfunctional conversations where one can get lost very easily when comments are missing.

You can also try disabling Plug in load balancing in preferences. Ive done it from time to time.

That whole 1st album was just great. Every member just seemed to separate themselves with their own distinct sound. Especially one of my favorite guitarists, Elliot Easton.
