  1. What is weird is that these sort of time signatures do something to my brain and seems to irritate me,
    Anybody else get that?

I like the guitar work and your vocal Lynn but I cant listen to it all.
I remember thats how I felt when I first listened to Jessie's music..  but now for some reason I like it and have got used to it and can see the creativity in it.
Need to try and listen more..

  2. I must be old now...  but remember that cartoon as a kid,
Well done on matching the beat with the bricklaying and other areas..  very creative use of the video.

I liked the female vocal a lot... very nice.
Also the violin ... was very different and well played.

All  in all ... well done and great creativity.
Take my hat off to you all.

  3. Hi Ross.
not my genre...  but great vocals and well mixed.
My personal opinion  (we all paint different pictures) but dont be afraid of adding more punch to your drums.
Chris Lord Alge would have a field day with your drums.
    Well done.

  4. Hi Jerry.
    You have great composing skills.
I recognized the dune sound and very clever how you integrated it with traditional orchestration.
If you are looking for a vocalist for collaboration I dont mind trying to help out.
You can hear my voice and various posts on here...  if I can be of assistance please send a pm.

    well done.

    Gary

  5. HI Kim.
    Your mix is good.
I am not trying to be big headed here...  but I used to be a Pioneer DJ and worked for them for a couple of years.

You need to get out of the repetition (too much) and also add more dynamics and add breaks up or down.
You will not keep interest or your dance floor full.

But take heart... its a good start.
I suggest you listen to more tracks in your genre and listen too how they arrange them.
Take a pen and paper and work out their breaks and dynamics and their structure... then apply it to your own music.
not forgetting that you are unique... so dont have to copy...  but this style of music has a sort of rule.

Wish you all the best and good luck with your creativity,.

Beautiful song Gary.  I  too think that your vocal is excellent and carries the song.  BGV' would certainly add to what is already an excellent song.

    Well done indeed!

Thanks for taking the time to listen Freddy.
I have band practice tonight and will see how the BGV goes.
I can hear them in my head.

I like it. Well played, and the vocal work is pretty strong, to my ears. You've got a really nice voice.

I can't really offer advice about the mix -- this type of music is not an area I've ever spent time working in, and I don't feel qualified to comment.

But I really like the song. Held my attention all the way through.

Thanks for taking the time to listen and commenting Rob.
    Appreciated.

Gary, your vocal on this lovely tune is terrific!  In fact, I think it carries the song.  You've received some good advice, so I'll not add any more.  You are truly a polished singer, and I always enjoy your professionalism.  Kudos!

    WOW!  Thanks Lynn... great encouragement.

Good tune Gary. Hope you work it up with your new band. I imagine it would go over very well performed live.

Thanks for the comments and taking time to listen.
    Another practice this Thursday,

A great thing about today is that you can record the songs on the mixer and use them for virtual sound checks so if one person cant make it.. you can still carry on the band practise.  I have 4 weeks to pull this thing off!!

Great song Gary. I agree with Douglas, bg vox would add some dimension to the song. Excellent playing on it. Loved the drums. Electric Piano was played very well also. Good mix as always. I didn't hear any parts that I would do over or correct. You got a good voice that I enjoy listening too. And it sounds like you're from Texas or Tennessee!! : )

    Thanks mate as always.

Ive been to Tennessee about 4 times.. so maybe picked up and accent  LOL.
I think its just influences over the years... cant explain it.

Thanks for the comments I will go back and try a few things out, 'cause this song is worth it to me. The answer to me posting under a different name is yes, that's a very astute observation. Not a 'cloak and dagger' thing, I stopped posting early last year as my wife was diagnosed with acute leukemia and I didn't feel much like recording as you can imagine... she is in full remission now but I wanted to start posting under a different name ...a sorta fresh start as it were.

Good on ya for the fresh start:
I recognized the style and who it was straight away.  🙂
