I've got a 100ft cable running from router in living room to my office.

    Me too!

We're a bit lucky in that there's a cable supply place somewhat nearby (it's very close to the Intel campuses in Hillsboro Oregon), so we would always stock up there.  We avoid the cheap Chinese crap cables they sell on Amazon like the plague!

REM never did like them much. At all.

Then again, I didn't like Ozzy when he first came out as a Solo Artist.

Didn't like the Police either. Never bought any of their albums. Have much respect for Andy and Stewart. And yes Gordon is a hell of a musician. I just get fed up with him after... it don't take much.

Didn't like AC/DC when they came out either. Wasn't until Back IN Black that I started liking them. Then I went through the back catalog and thought... WTF didn't I like this?!!

Everyone of those bands I have come around to like in some form or another. Except REM.

There's been a few bands for me that I wasn't enamored with right away, but they just kept growing on me the more I listened (REM was one).  On the other hand, there's also quite a few bands where it felt like the radio and the hype was trying to tell me that I must like them, but they became more and more meh to me.  Mood and intention are huge!

I studied classical guitar for a few years, so I had to learn.

For the audition, I had to borrow an acoustic (steel strings) and I played Diary of a Madman (the intro) with a pick.  A few months later, my teacher handed me handed me charts saying "I think you'll like this one". The piece was Leo Brouwer's Etude No. 6.

Their definition of "Simples" is different than mine! 😆

I always remember my few months in Russia very fondly because of the people, and how friendly they were.

    Proof! 😁

(Backstory, I asked him to take a picture of him in front of the "Onions" and he did so I had to save it! 🙂)

    SUCCESS!

The package got delivered, albeit left at an unused door. I only found out it was there by checking the tracking page, which said it had been delivered. While walking around the house looking for it, had fingers crossed that it had actually been delivered to the correct address. It was, and the box was mostly undamaged.

Nothing like a new toy to take the edge off one's fury.

Penn & Teller demonstrate this in some of their performances. They display a jar of jelly beans on stage before the show, and audience members are invited to write down their guesses for how many jelly beans there are and drop their guesses into a box. During the show all of the guesses are totaled and averaged, and the results are revealed at the end of the show. To everyone's amazement, the audience in aggregate accurately guessed the number of jelly beans with < 0.3% error.

If I ever see a Penn & Teller show and they do this, I'll be sure to submit 42,000,000,000,000 as my guess just to mess things up! 😁

Yes, when the first one breaks down on the way to the cemetery.

    True story:

My Mom was in a serious car accident in 1958 and, when they needed to transport her and a cousin from one hospital to another and didn't have any ambulances available, they used a hearse!  They had some fun raising and lowering their legs while wiggling their toes in front of the back window whenever a car pulled up behind them. 😁
