It's unclear to me whether the audio/clips are audible or silent in your case? Clips missing waveform image can still play back normally.
Ya, no playback, just an empty clip. This isn't a case of the old missing audio because the audio got moved or renamed. It's just disassociating the audio from the session altogether. Never seen this is all my cakewalk years (or decades...yipes!)

This happened again. I think the major issue is that Cakewalk is opening the file without saying there are silent regions or missing audio. Just a bunch of empty clips where the music used to be. If I right-click to check the associated wave file properties, there's nothing in the list.
The audio files are sitting there but Cakewalk has no idea and doesn't realize it has empty clips.
This isn't good!

Hi there,
My input latency reports 9.5ms when the audio card buffer is set to 128.
So after performing a drum track, I'd like to slide it back by the reported latency amount.
Is there any way to move or slide things by milliseconds or samples in Cakewalk?
Thanks

The Channel Tools plugin comes as standard with CbB as of 2020.08.
Hey! It's back! Awesome! I hadn't noticed the update had it.
Thanks!

Is there any easy way to swap left and right on an interleaved wave in cakewalk?
I used to use channel tools which was removed for whatever reason.
Thanks

Yes! That's it! Thanks very much! Worked like a charm...

Hey there,
I have a midi snare track that was triggered from a live snare track. I want to eliminate all the low velocity hits and just keep the high velocity hits. In other words, remove the ghosted snares and just keep the punchy main snares.
I tried to do this with the cakewalk velocity plug in but it didn't work. How can I eliminate the lower velocity notes from the midi file? I know I can go through and delete by hand but I thought i could use a process to do it somehow.
Any help appreciated!
Cheers

With an external insert enabled, you can't solo any folders, you can't solo any buses and you can't solo any aux tracks.
This is annoying and slows down work flow like crazy. The bug has been around for ever...
Could this get fixed please?

Ha, thanks for trying.
I know how it's supposed to work but the output doesn't show up.
I've reached out to their contact for support. Will see if they get back to me. I will post back if I get an answer.
Thanks

Comments written yesterday but not posted: I was curious about this, so I found, downloaded, and installed a demo version (1.09 from 2006). I put it in the fx bin on the audio track of a vsti. I tried a number of settings for the 3 knobs. My usb keyboard's modulation wheel is clearly going to the midi track. I hear the lfo modulation of the vsti, but Vinyl Boy doesn't scratch. I do hear the white noise, so I know it is in my audio chain.
Maybe someone else can get it to work in Cakewalk
New comments: Today I tried routing the audio portion of a vsti to a stereo bus and putting "Vinyl X" in the fx bin there. As far as the vsti, that works as expected. Plus, the bus has the vsti audio and the white noise from the demo version of the fx. My mod wheel affects the vsti audio, but there is no scratching effect.
Cakewalk seems to see it as a 32-bit audio FX plug-in with 2 ins and 2 outs. The three knobs show up as FX controls where you would expect them to show up.
I have not tried tweaking properties, yet.
ADDENDUM: Convert to FX Chain works; in and out levels seem to work. I could probably add the 3 knobs, but that won't help with the MIDI Issue. Just showing here that Cakewalk can display audio in and audio out. The white noise indicating it is a demo plug-in only shows up on the output.
BTW, the manual says it is for Windows 95 thru Windows XP.
Maybe it will work on an XP PC?
Interesting. I wonder if it only likes to work with a rendered wave file on an audio track rather than on a vsti? You might be right with XP but I'd like to have it as part of my work flow on win 10.
Simple program but most of the scratching vsts are all programming based, you can't use a mod wheel and just scratch yourself, live. That's what I like about this one. hmmmm. Thanks

Its a 32 bit plugin. That could be a problem for you. But try to enable it as an instrument. This may not work though. It will work for DX plugins.
I tried enabling as an instrument but then it won't show up as a plugin. I'm hip to midi in and out... I use vocoders and such. This one doesn't have the vst3 (or vst2) drop down on the plugin, so there's no option to enable midi ins/outs. Their manual says the output should just show up.... I guess it's too old to work in win 10 properly.
There might be a way... gotta think about it

That's helpful, thanks

I'm having a strange issue where I have a file with some wave files in it. I save and close the session. When I reopen, the clips are blank, no message about missing audio. Audio is still in the project's audio folder. The clips are titled but they no longer associate with the audio in the audio folder. I'm able to reconstruct the file by re-importing the waves but this is strange!
Could it be a new bug? What else could be happening? (This isn't the standard issue where CW can't find files because of a missing or relocated audio folder...)
Thanks

I just got melodyne 5 studio installed and working in cakewalk.
I used to use melodyne editor and it had a feature where, if the detection missed a note or rather, didn't separate out a note, you could set it to this mode that showed all these possible notes that were ghost notes or something. Anyhow, there you could select the ghost notes that were missing, hit re-detect and it would then include those missing notes.
I can't find anything like that in melodyne 5. Any one know why?
Thanks!

Yup, that was it. There was a second vst3 dll. I thought it was the new one. I checked the date and kept the new one and now it opens.
Thanks!

Have you tried rescanning the vst's? Also, check your stand-alone version, if you have one, for the correct version. Good luck!
Yes, scanned vst, the stand-alone works fine, and says it's version 5.
Do I need to delete the old one, I'm wondering?
hmmm
Thanks

Hi, I'm trying out a vst called "vinyl boy", it will "scratch" a wave file via the mod wheel. (Turntable effect)
Anyhow, there is no "enable midi input" in the plugin properties. (I believe because it's not a VST 3 plugin.)
Everyone in the videos are able to use it.... am I missing something? Can can it receive midi data if it's vst 2?
thanks

Hi there.
I have installed melodyne 5 on my computer.
In Cakewalk, if I try to open it or use it as a region effect, it opens version 4 (the one I had)
How to I get Cakewalk to use version 5?
Thanks!

So, you can't solo any bus if you're using an external insert...ridiculous FIX IT!!!
Now noticing midi notes playing only 60% of the notes when external insert is enabled. WTF??
Cakewalk, fix the bugs associated with external insert. We don't need anymore crappy content, just fix the basics of the program. So many issues have never been addressed in years and years. Seriously guys...

Tried again by turning on input echo and it did work. Still not sure it's the reason as sometimes it works w/o it turned on.
Hmmmm
Thanks

Have you enabled Input Echo ?
I just tried enabling input echo on the track, it didn't make a difference.
Currently, it's working and I hear the data in melodyne, I have input echo off.
However it will not always work, only sometimes.
What's happening? no idea...

Hi there...
Sometimes when using melodyne as a region effect, I'll click on the blobs of the vocal and hear the audio when I move them to different pitches etc. However sometimes it doesn't play when I click the blobs.
Seems random. Does anyone know why they wouldn't always play when you click on them?
Audio clips disassociating with audio

No, it won't rebuild or play. I have to physically go to the audio folder, retrieve the audio and snap it to the empty clips so it lines up.
