  1. I think I remember Mike Greene doing a Black Friday Sale where he briefly RAISED the prices on all RealiTone libraries. But you had to move fast-- or the prices would go back down again. Maybe I dreamed this. Does anybody remember if this really happened?

  3. I'd like to pick up some or all of these types for Labor day or some other sale. I like those piano libraries that have something cool/strange about them, often with other additional layered sounds added to the piano sound.. thanks abacab for sending me down this 🐰🕳️ w/ Shipwreck piano the other day. Then Peter mentions Death Piano and Fleer mentions Halfling and now I must own them all apparently. Below is what I know of so far. Is this pretty much all there is or are there more worthy mentions? Happy Saturday! 4. Are you tired of sales that apply only to some products? Are you tired of sales that have ending dates? Wouldn't it great if there was a company that lowered prices on all their products? Permanently? You bet it would! https://realitone.com/ Here at Realitone, we hear you. So we've permanently lowered prices on all products ... by 95 cents! That's right! So instead of Realivox Blue being $149.95, now it's just $149! Sunset Strings was $299.95 - but now just $299! RealiBanjo? Say goodbye to four digits of messiness with $59.95, and say hello to $59! Now, I know what you're thinking: "But Mike! Sure, this looks cleaner. But how are you going to stay in business with such a drastic drop in income???" I hear you! Heck, I'll probably have to start buying off-brand ramen, instead of the fancy stuff. But when you're as dedicated to your customers as I am, then by golly, these are the sorts of sacrifices you have to make. But Wait! There's More! Sure, I take pride in going my own path with this permanent price-slashing thing. But it can be lonely being the leader in the cause of Pricing Justice. So if everyone else is having a Labor Day Sale, then ... well, I want to have one, too. So with our Realitone Labor Day Sale, we're slashing prices even further! And ... with the extra 95 cents off, that makes these are our lowest sale prices ... EVER! (I'm hoping the people who bought during the last Black Friday sale don't get mad!) Sunset Strings - Was $299.95. Now on sale, but not at $199.95. We're talkin' just $199! Realivox Blue with Wordbuilder - Was $149.95. So is it on sale for $99.95? Heck no! We're slashin' it to just $99! Realivox Ladies Lite is on sale for as low as $99! That's how much we care about you, our valued customers! Hip Hop Creator and RealiDrums are each half off! Just $99! Amazing! Fingerpick as low as $79! RealiBanjo is just $39! RealiWhistle is just $29! Acoustic Lite is just $29! Screaming Trumpet - Featuring Wayne Bergeron is just $99!

  5. I'm a big fan of Dream Audio Tools A lot of great libraries, very reasonably priced. And their are sales that make them even more reasonable. I'm a big fan of their Indie Fingers series, which are libraries composed of contemporary pop/rock guitar arpegggios, which you can combine. You can make amazing tracks just combining some of these arps. Also, +++++`1 for Indiginus. I think that Tracy Collins is one of the greatest makers of virtual instruments ever, along with Tarilonte, Alex at Cinematic Studio, and Eric Persing of Spectrasonics. He makes instruments that sound great and are also a lot of fun to play. The thing I particularly like is that he has an auto-harmony feature. You can bring this in and out with keyswitches or velocity or other cc, but I am lazy and tend to just leave it on all the time. Do NOT make the mistake that because Indiginus products are so cheap that they are not number one. I have excellent guitars by Orange Tree Samples and AmpleSound, but I generally reach for my Indiginus ones. Or... I try them all for a piece and the Indiginus ones sound best. The problem with a company like Indiginus for a forum like this is that there are no sales--therefore there is no sense of occasion, like "I have to buy now!" I never miss a product introduction, and I've tried to pick up one or two a year. Here's a little thing I did using the harmony effect on both Indiginus's The Fiddle and The STEEL, the amazing Indiginus Lap Steel, that I use all the time. With tools like this even a shmo like me can get beautiful sounds very quickly. (Guitar is NI's Picked Acoustic.)

  10. Yeah, I remember when those guys came on the scene, they made this killer video of them jamming and everything sounded great. But no, I didn't find the Wurl library of my dreams yet. I could always spend $20 USD on SoundPaint's Wurli. @Simeon Amburgey You did a video I watched where you played SoundPaint's Wurli, but I don't recall hearing any patches that really sounded like they captured that kind of magic tone I'm looking for for the Wurli. I don't know how to describe it, but it's probably greatly R&B like Ray Charles got out of it and a little of what the Beatles got out of it (I think Billy Preston played on those parts). I have fiddled with effects on the NI Scarbee one. The first song I played after stopping playing for 21 years started with me jamming with the KONTAKT factory library patch with a bunch of distortion and a rotary speaker on it -- a cover of "I Am the Walrus" linked below (the Wurli is panned to the right) Of course, 21 years of not playing due to a repetitive stress injury causing lifelong tendinis that results in my getting pain after playing for a short periods combined with no practice all of those years isn't a formula for killer playing (I was going to do a really cool drum fill near the end of this song but I started having shooting pain, so just finishing was a challenge; I'm connected to one of my former drum teachers on FB and still hoping to have at least one song he says, "decent job" on -- it seriously is motivating me to keep pushing as I know he won't give false praise). And here's an under the radar announcement, I actually did a demo for an upcoming FANTASTIC sample library that I've waited more than a decade for. So the sample developer, who I've consulted to and become friends with, asked me to do a demo. That's coming out next week guys! I'm very excited, but yeah, no one is going to be impressed with my playing. I can promise everyone this, I didn't use an midi tricks, I played the parts in in real-time, improvised. If I can play it, so can you! And yes, I start out the demo -- I'll share it here later this week -- with a Wurli, it was the NI/Scarbee one.

  15. So far no one has mentioned two very interesting (older) Kontakt library developers: Hollow Sun - Stephen Howell was super interesting, creating unique synth libraries. Unfortunately he passed away and his company Hollow Sun stopped at that point. But the libraries are still there, and still work and sound great: http://hollowsun.com/ Pulstar from the many libraries is a first good one to look at if unfamiliar with Hollow Sun: http://hollowsun.com/HS2/alien_devices/pulstar/index.htm Hideaway Studio - Dan, who worked with Stephen on some Hollow Sun projects, started Hideaway Studio which has a number of low-cost, fantastic sounding libraries. I have used a fair number of patches from these libraries in my songs because they sound quite nice and hit the spot. It appears Dan is now selling his products officially through Loot Audio: https://hideawaystudio.net/ From Hideaway Studio a good first one to check out is the Blue Zone collection: https://hideawaystudio.net/category/the-blue-zone/ Here's one sound example from the Blue Zone:

  17. I completely forgot about e-instruments Electric W. I think I'm going to get that next sale. I do really like that dev. I have their upright piano library -- it has two uprights-- and use it regularly. SoundPaint still hasn't responded to my support ticket-- beyond their automated email reply. Stinks for an impulse purchase that now I won't even have time to try it maybe at all this weekend because their installer rejected their code.

  18. Look out for audio plugin deals/vstbuzz deals on Gospel Musicians, I got a great deal on a bunch of good stuff and then there are quite fair upgrade offers and deals on GM own website. It helps a lot to login to see the offers. For Wurli there's one more library worth checking out: Session Keys Electric W from e-instruments.com Also there's Broken Wurli from Soniccouture but that one, I think, was already mentioned in the other thread.

  24. Great sounding piece Jeff ! I listened on my small iLoud speaker and it comes across as a great and balanced piano sound. Never understood trying to get a "good" sound on teeny iPhone speakers, as you mention in your original post . . . maybe not engineered for high transient material like a piano ? One thing I've always used to zero in on high transients is to turn on Cakewalk's Peak Marker (in the meter settings) . . . which seeks out and actually flags the rogue peaks . . . then you can go in and destroy them all as needed, and actually saves some time in finding them. Maybe this will help what you're hearing ?

  25. Talking developers and Wurlitzers I have to mention Teletone Audio. Here is a video I did for their Vesepertone which has a Rhodes and Wurli. Here is the part of the clip I look at the Wurli. Far out!

  28. I just thought of another indie developer I just love. Xperimenta Project. Everything I have from this dev is wonderful. Download the freebies to get a taste of the quality of his work; it will get your attention. One of the first libraries of his I picked up was the vibraphone Xvibes and it's superb. I fell in love with the metallaphones since playing the glockenspiel in the school band as kid, so I probably have two dozen KONTAKT vibraphone and glockenspiel libraries (as well as an actual glockenspiel down in my basement). It's regular price is $9.99, but it goes on sale every so often. Check out the demos. https://www.xperimentaproject.com/

  31. She would be fine, and we had our days at nude beaches when we were younger. However, there is an unwritten rule at nude beaches around here, not to point anything out. We don't go to the beach much anymore, too busy doing other things that are also enjoyable. We played at a nudist 'camp' (it was actually a mobile home and RV park) for quite a few years, until a hurricane came and destroyed the clubhouse. Neither Mrs. Notes nor I had a problem with that. Mrs. Notes has no problem with me looking at pretty girls, she knows I think that she is beautiful, and she knows I have no intention of being unfaithful. Before marriage, when I was gigging in singles clubs and later on the road, there were babes-a-plenty, and I hope they all look back on the experience as fondly as I do. But right now, as pretty as those flaunting their youth are, I wouldn't take the chance even if it was offered. I'm sure she appreciates looking at young, fit men, but I don't point them out to her. 32. This is a slow, brooding movement. Scored for VSL orchestral strings, winds and brass. The Yamaha MODX is playing the synth pad, the choir is East West Hollywood Choirs. Here's what the choir is singing (choir doesn't enter until 3:27): Antilogies* abound On your world of joy and pain. Of light and life, of darkness and death-- You make or destroy your soul by love or fear, and govern your fate with every choice you make. Be the witness of living truth, or you may become like a black hole-- where light and life cannot escape, and who you once had been is never more. * antilogies: a contradiction in terms or ideas PLAY Jerry

  34. A new issue has recently cropped up in Windows Defender (anti-virus) for Win 11 and I believe Win 10. Defender's "Memory Integrity" function has been updated and is now flagging some drivers ".inf" files as security risk and the memory integrity function cannot be turned on until the flagged drivers (and/or .sys) are removed. My list included some drivers no longer needed and they were deleted. However, I still have a fully functional Frontier Tranzport (wireless DAW controller) and the drivers for this are on my list. Frontier is gone so no new "secure" drivers will ever be issued. Thus the Defender memory integrity will never get enabled. Maybe a 3rd party AV is an option, but I've had some DAW problems back in Win 7 times with 3rd party AV's (tried several). For others, if you run across this you will be faced with doing away with DAW hardware (or software) or keeping them and not being able to enable memory integrity.

  36. I'm hoping there are still some FW-1884/FE-8 users here. I have the FW-1884 and a couple FE-8's and they seem to be working fine in Cakewalk. There is an issue I'm trying to resolve however. On the FW-1884 to arm a track for recording, you hold down the REC key and press the Select key for the track you want to arm. This works fine on the 1884, but not on the FE-8. If I hold down the REC key on the 1884 and then press a Select key on an FE-8, it won't arm the track. Does anyone know how to correct this? --- Shoot. I just answered my own question. I was using the devices in Mackie mode. I just realized the old Sonar plug-in from Tascam still works in Cakewalk. Running the 1884 in Native mode seems to work perfectly. The Master fader is even doing what it's supposed to.

  37. Okay, I vaguely recalled GG Audio. My mother was a musician and music teacher and we grew up with a Wurli, baby grand, organ and a Leslie. So, I am in love with those sounds and they're incredibly sentimental to me. I just checked out a YouTuber playing GG's B3 using a Leslie and man, that sounded like Heaven. Dead serious. Beautiful.
