I just wanted to share some news that I couldn't keep to myself, lol If you refer a friend or use a refer link to buy stuff there you can get coupons of 10%, each time someone buys something and the coupons do stack! I don't know how I did it, but in July I somehow managed to collect 24 10% coupons! They kept sending me coupons vial email. I waited until end of July when I got paid to cash in all the coupons and take advantage of the Summer of Sound Design deal they had. I got a few items from there and some from the store section of the site. I even got the newest deal at the time (which is still going on now), the guitar amp VST. So in total it was 12 items! 50% off "Factory" by Sugar Bytes 71% off "Loom II" by Air Music Tech 70% off "Wiggle" by 2nd Sense Audio 72% off "Palindrome Sampler" by Glitchmachines 96% off Ultimate RMX 30K Bundle 65% off "Carbon Electra Synth" (VST/AU) by Plugin Boutique 55% off "Grainspace" by Audiority 70% off "Sasquatch Kick Machine 2" by Boz Digital Labs 88% off "HellBeast" by Audio Assault 86% off "MPC 2.0 Special Edition Bundle" by Akai Pro 70% off "Virtual Instrument Player 3" by AKAI 38% off "Thorus" by UVI Total cost: €473.99 Discount with coupons applied: €436.17 Total paid: €37.82 ???10 points

Would you call it Schrödinger's Deal, when one of your favorite plug-in houses runs a big sale and you are simultaneously, in equal parts bummed that you can't afford to take advantage of, and glad that you can't afford to take advantage of it? Fortunately, these conditions do null.5 points

Get it HERE ECHOREC– A Legendary-Sounding Delay Vintage Echorec devices are known for their saturation, self-oscillation, and oversound, all shaping the music produced in the 70s. They are also, however, known to be fragile and difficult to maintain. For this plugin three different units, in different conditions, have been precisely modeled, to have all sounds from the cleanest magnetic delay, to the most grunge. The Echorec will offer you: The sound of a legendary machine that has marked the history of music The unique ability to create rhythmic delays using its 4 read heads A delay of unequalled sound density, making it easier to place in the music The advantages of “organic” analog sound as well as the advantages of digital sound (presets, parameter automation, etc.) These additions and the signature sound of the Binson Echorec 2 make this echo a must-have tool for any mixer who wants to add the subtle analog life, which is sorely lacking in digital delay plugins. A Unique Custom Modification Of The Classic 60’s Binson Echo/Delay Unit Why It’s Unique The Pulsar Echorec plugin gives you a faithful emulation of the legendary echo unit of the same name; furthermore, many workflow improvements have been added to the original, such as the ability to change the motor speed (and so the delay time) in real time or to sync it to any tempo, including a tapped tempo. Authentic Tube Sound The exact sound of the all-tube input section of the Binson Echorec has been precisely replicated. Special attention was paid to the modeling of pre-emphasis filters. Magnetic Field Recreation Any sound going through a magnetic device is modified in a particular way. Complex processes in the Echorec disk involving magnetic saturation and hysteresis have been precisely modeled. Stereo Drift As an improvement to the original hardware design, Pulsar Audio added the possibility of slightly detuning the left and right channels. The result is a large stereo echo with precisely placed repetitions. Creative Modulations Sound engineers always have their tricks. One of the coolest with the Echorec is the ability to slow the disk down with a finger, resulting in creative pitch modulation or wow and flutter effects on the delayed signal. Three States Of Wear Any Binson unit found nowadays has traveled 50 years through time. Some are in mint condition, and some are used. During measurements, it was found that each unit had a special color, and some are really nice independently from the unit condition. So we selected the three units we liked the most. Off Mode Some effects just sound incredibly good, even when they’re not supposed to affect the sound at all. The Binson Echorec is one of these. So Pulsar Audio carefully designed an Off mode that reproduces the color and grit of the delayed signal, without any delay. For more details on all of these features read the User Manual HERE.3 points

Whoa, Hillmy, that looks interesting indeed, and they mention Cakewalk compatibility, good on 'em. Ob. pun about being stoked-a55 about Stochas. All groan. In other freeware news, thanks to @Fleer, we know about OB-XD 2.0. I haven't tried it yet, but I've been sprinkling some Synthwave sounds into things lately, so an Oberheim tribute will be a welcome thing. It is free, the button that says "49.00" is for if you want to donate $49.00. If you want to download it, click the appropriate download button. Also, for fellow ambient droners, a company called Quiet Music just released an instrument called Serenity, which isn't as sleepy as it sounds. From what I can make out it's a ROMpler with 3 drone waves in it that you can mix, plus some other basic things like an LFO, filter, reverb. Like a SONiVOX Orchestral Companion but with only 3 samples in it. Maybe "SONiVOX Hippie Companion." It's actually capable of darker moods depending on how you mix the waves and set it. C1-F1 are mapped to field recordings of crickets, birds, then 4 different water sounds, rushing, splashing, rain, waves, and these may all play simultaneously. Someone could, for instance, hold down C1 and C#1 to get the crickets and birds chirping, then bring the water sounds in one by one, then play some ominous intervals with the ambient drone section to evoke God's wrath upon the Earth for the sins of mankind. The UI actually kind of encourages that:3 points

UPDATE - August 05 - this deal is STILL being offered by PC World - I just snagged 3 more licenses, (2 last night, and 1 this morning), because of friends that bought pre-loaded new PC's from stores, only to find out the hard way, that they came with OEM versions of Windows 10, that do not allow for transfer to a different computer. So - now, they can use these $39 licenses, instead of the $199 it would have cost for them to buy a license elsewhere. Wahoo! (2 of the 3 I just got are for friends, and I am keeping the 3rd for myself, plus I had gotten one for me, back in early July) Anyways, it looks like this sale runs through the whole month of August - REALLY a good deal. The purchase generates a full retail license key for Windows 10 Professional. I suggest NOT adding on the 2 optional add-ons, which are for 2-year access to download, and the other is for a prepared DVD to be sent. The reason I suggested skipping the add-on purchases, are because that 2-year download access is not to download Windows 10, it is to purchase 2-year download access to download the two files for which the purchase gives download links that are good for either 30 or 60 days. Those two downloadable files are 1) the Windows 10 Install Guide PDF, and 2) the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool. When you purchase the Windows 10 Pro license here, you use the Media Creation Tool to prepare a copy of Window 10 Pro, on either a USB drive or DVD, and then during installation, you would use the purchased license. Enjoy, I still am Bob Bone2 points

I'm a sucker for this kind of thing....... also that guy from the White Sea Studio / Snake Oil youtube channel.....spends most of the time complaining about the (rather good) GUI - and it's obvious he has ZERO idea what an echorec actually is or what it should sound like (he keeps calling it a tape delay) Then he tries to evaluate if it sounds authentic...... how does this get 34,000 views ? Do people trust this kind of "review" ? (rant over - it's still early and I need more tea )2 points

Hi folks Here's a song that has been sitting dormant for some time and I recently 'finished' (are they ever?) Nits and crits welcome (lyrics below link). Overpromised Written and performed by Staypress V1 I didn't mean to disappoint you But it's not easy being perfect no, no It's hard to keep promises you didn't mean to make Guess my armour ain't shining no more Ch You said that this is my very last chance I am trying to be the king of romance You whispered those words in my ear and I shivered I over promised and under delivered V2 I didn't want to be your hero Didn't want that on my shoulders no, no It's hard to be faultless for you for heaven's sake Guess I'm not who you imagined me to be Ch Outro I didn't mean to disappoint you but it's not easy being perfect no, no1 point

It sounds like something similar to when Waves and other companies take control of your computer remotely while you're on the phone with them in order to troubleshoot, but in this case the guy would be mixing on your daw and using your gear but with his expertise. Problem is, I get how the "physical" part could be done remotely, but not the audible part. How will this dude be able to *properly* hear what he's doing? I was thinking maybe he uses your daw remotely and can hear your daw through his studio monitors.. but then in that case why does the phone need to be involved? I'll give dude benefit of the doubt and assume he's not going to be monitoring over a severely hipassed phone signal, so.. @Dreamer, did the guy break the process down to you? Because now I have to know1 point

my reason not to be interested in this is simpler, i just don't like the bro vibes from that dude, LOL1 point

Just a thought... but you could try the BandLab mobile app. You can then import directly into Cakewalk via BandLab assistant.1 point

Are they deliberately trying to be retro? Has it been long enough that plug-ins can be retro to earlier plug-in UI design? 'Cause these things are partying like it's 1999. Those knurled knobs hurt my cursor, and the glare from the shiny pushbuttons hurts my eyes after a while. But I am happy for the giant segmented LCD "SHIMMERVERB" because sometimes I forget what plug-in I'm using. The demo does sound pretty frickin' great, though....as a handy, inexpensive way to get some classic Eventide algorithms, more power to 'em.1 point

Very strange. In the end I checked my orders and it was in my account. I think it must have worked the first time but not given any indication. When I tried again it probably found that I already owned it so gave the slightly cryptic error message ?♂️1 point
