There is no point in having this discussion here. There is no Cakewalk Anniversary Mac Edition. AFAIK, there are no plans for one. There is a thread requesting a Mac version in the feedback loop area. If you wish to continue this discussion, please do so over there.2 points

This sounds more like a soundcard issue than a specs issue. ^^^ What he says^^^ Don't go throwing money around upgrading RAM, New Laptop only to find out your Soundcard is a Hugo. I used to use an I3 intel with 4GB of RAM (my mobile DAW) back when Sonar X1 was released. I had great results. But I also had a USB Focusrite scarlett.2 points

This is quite amazing. Already got Syntronik, and this Memory-V (Moog) normally comes as a $50 add-on or as part of the costly Deluxe option. Thanks for this sweet freebie!2 points

Hi, Kenny & Everybody in The Good Old Coffee House Crew!? I'm looking forward to checking out Hired Gun, thanks for the recommendation!? Here's a bunch from Netflix that piqued my interest, I've only seen a few of them so far, but the descriptions looked interesting! As mentioned above, The History of the Eagles was fantastic, as well as the Tom Petty - Damn the Torpedoes at the bottom of this list. I've seen many really good ones were already removed from Netflix. Muscle Shoals about the famous studio, and "Artifact", about the current state of the big label music industry were both really good, and as Paulo mentioned above, Eagle Rock Entertainment's Classic Album Series is fantastic, and I think some of them are available to watch for free on Vudu. I'm still bumming that I missed Sound City before Netflix removed it! Here goes: Currently Available on Netflix (at least in my geographic location): Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Child Rush - Beyond the Lighted Stage Foo Fighters - Back & Forth How the Beatles Changed the World The Doors - When You're Strange Metallica - Some Kind of Monster Now More Than Ever - The History of Chicago Rolling Stones - Crossfire Hurricane Bowie - The Man Who Changed the World George Harrison - Living in the Material World Joe Cocker- Mad Dog With Soul John Mellencamp - Plain Spoken Keith Richards - Under the Influence We Are Twisted F---ing Sister Oasis - Supersonic Springsteen And I Danny Says The Other One (Bob Weir/Grateful Dead) Kurt and Courtney Anvil -The Story of Anvil 27 Gone Too Soon SHOT Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Runnin' Down a Dream - Was on Netflix, but now on Youtube: Have a good one guys! 00Laboratories - Kontakt Acoustic Guitar library $5 ($9.99 after March 15th) https://00laboratories.com/product/acoustic-guitar-library Fingerpicked Acoustic Guitar library as VST and for Kontakt 5 and HISE. The guitar is a Richwood A-20. Intro price until: 15th of March! Sample Libraries as VSTs and for Kontakt 5 and HISE. 30-day full refund policy. If you’re unhappy, fill out the contact form below and we will give you your money back. Description Fingerpicked Acoustic Guitar library as VST and for Kontakt 5 and HISE. The guitar is a Richwood A-20. Sampled range is from D1 to E4, sampling is done for each string until the note of the next string is reached, so there are no recordings of every single note of every string. Soft and Hard dynamics for every note and interval. 5 percussion samples with 6 round robins each. Chord change/sliding noise with 21 round robins. Power chord slaps from D1 to D2 with both soft and hard dynamic layers and 2 round robins. When the Power Slap keyswitch is held down they keyboard range where it is playable will change color. Release samples for every note with 2 round robins. Release samples can only trigger if release time is set to 250ms or lower. Harmonics in range D2 to G4 with 2 round robins. 12-string guitar simulation mode, in octaves up to the high E string. From there it turns into unison. Predictive Playback When this option is enabled the script will add a 25ms audio delay to give it time to analyze the midi notes. If a Major 3rd, Minor 3rd, 4th or 5th interval is played on the D string and above, a real sample of that interval will be played instead of two individual notes. Depending on the order of the notes, a root position major chord could be played as follows: a Major 3rd interval sample + a solo 5th sample. a 5th interval sample + a 3rd solo sample. a Minor 3rd interval sample + a root note solo sample. Example Tracks These example tracks only use the AG-20 library. https://00laboratories.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/AG-20_RT_demo.mp3 https://00laboratories.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/AG-20_example_track_2.mp3 Minimum System Requirements The standalone AG-20 VST DLL requires a 64-bit computer (x64). Kontakt 5 instrument requires full version of Kontakt 5.8+. HISE instrument was built with HISE 2.0 build 650 (see instrument source code on GitHub). Size Information 497 samples. Kontakt: 407 MB size on disk. VST: 170 MB samples, 11.4 MB VST.1 point

I found a free sampled guitar instrument named "Shinyguitar" among the available Plogue sforzando SFZ player banks. It's a sampled shiny black archtop electric, with pickup and mic samples, with a control you can blend between them with on the sforzando UI. Samples have four velocity layers and 4 round robins. In all, there are 11 controls that you can adjust such as tone, vibrato, mutes, etc. It's clean and dry, but you can amp it up with the included Overloud TH-3 amp sim in Cakewalk! https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Plug-ins.2.html#1813385 Get sforzando for free here, standalone or VST, 32/64-bit: https://www.plogue.com/products/sforzando.html Find sforzando banks here: https://www.plogue.com/products/sforzando-banks.html Shinyguitar download page: https://www.karoryfer.com/karoryfer-samples/wydawnictwa/shinyguitar I tried it out in this project and it sounds good with TH-3 cranked up. Note: to install the guitar sample library in sforzando, after you unzip it to your sforzando user files path, just drag and drop the included "Shinyguitar.bank.xml" file onto the sforzando UI to register it for use. This will automatically add "Shinyguitar" to the instrument menu in sforzando.1 point

I don't think the PC EQ is a resource hog. It should not show up much in Performance Module.1 point

Looks like a plug-ins made with synthedit. It may require running CbB as administrator. Personally, I avoid using 32bit plug-ins whenever possible. This includes plug-ins made with synthedit.1 point

Yep, for track #4 if you just click on that little downwards facing triangle in the output port settings box that is currently showing "1McrsftG...", you should see another entry available for the "DSK Electrik Guitar" instrument. If you choose that, then all MIDI output from track #4 will be routed to that guitar.1 point
-
Yeah, the image is easier to read but it was pretty obvious from the uploaded image what was going on by the track icons. The MIDI track is currently pointing to the MS GS Wavetable synth. That was the only part that I could not make out. You need to get the MIDI data in that track pointed to the soft synth. There are several solutions provided in my first reply and the reply immediately below mine. If you find yourself working with a lot of MIDI files and do not use hardware synths, you may want to disable all MIDI output devices. Then opening MIDI files in CbB will automatically use TTS-1 the GM soft synth bundled with CbB. As a rule, avoiding the MS GS Wavetable synth is a good idea. You still need to add an additional audio tracks when replacing one of instruments in TTS-1 with a different synth but the routing will be a little more obvious.1 point

ProChannel was meant to use very little resources when it was introduced. I can't say if it does now or not. Though it was meant to be used on all tracks. I haven't used it on all tracks yet. Also with the ability to use any VST in PC I would now say no. It would greatly depend on what is in your ProChannel.1 point

I also use a Scarlett Interface. Its all very confusing for an old Luddite like me. I'll try and absorb / understand the comments and move on once I have a grasp on things. (2023?)?1 point

I don’t feel abandoned but I have lost that lovin’ feeling. See how I did that. A subtle but necessary change of topic.1 point

Using the mouse, right-click on the fader or knob, and select "Revert to …" It should show the previous value. If the value hasn't changed, I believe there will not be a "Revert to …" in the menu. "Fader" meaning the same as "slider". Hope that's what you are looking for.1 point

At some point we're considering adding resampling on the fly to allow for running projects at different sample rates. We already do this for plugin upsampling so its technically feasible.1 point

It is consistency --- of course. You are constantly putting out such good stuff.1 point

Pure brilliance. Always loved this song. I personally am waiting to hear some newer stuff. Power trip was the last song I heard (newer anyway). thought that was a great song as well Bob. We are both right up the same alley when it comes to blues/metal. I hear so many influences in your music. Great writing, even better production on the recordings, mixes.1 point

Nice! We're going to get this one to over 10,000 views! Guitars great of course but I found myself focusing on the drums - they sound very well recorded! What did you use? Looking forward to the new stuff in the pipeline. cheers, -Tom1 point

Not every DAW is going to be great at everything. That's why there are so many of them, as people have different needs. I also have Ableton Live 10. It is great for some things, but sucks at others. I don't think I would ever be happy with just one DAW. You should seek a tool that already works the way that you want to work. Otherwise you face an uphill climb if you choose a tool that doesn't fit your needs, and try to change it to fit.1 point

No , this is a much wanted feature by many. Visual clip gain.1 point

It just occured to me that a recent change to AS is that the default stretching algorithm is now Elastique instead Groove Clip. In my experimentation with this algorithm when it was first released, I found that it could produce weird timing in some cases. Try switching to Groove Clip or one of the Izotope algorithms.1 point

I also recommend "Sound City". I watched it on a DVD from the library and my stereo (attached to my TV) never sounded so good. My contribution: The Beatles: Eight Days a Week - The Touring Years by Ron Howard. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2531318/ They were so good live it is unbelievable.1 point
