So... being a software test engineer and Tier 4 support engineer....this looks like a bug to me... -

I use for different audio interfaces depending on my workflow. It is extremely time consuming to alter the Sonar audio configuration every time I switch interfaces. Could you please create a way to save multiple interface configurations as a snapshot or preset so that different audio interface configurations can be loaded with a click? Thank You

do we delete CBB when activations end?
Noel Borthwick replied to charles kasler's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
There is no good reason to uninstall unless you desperately need the space. If you uninstall fully you might lose some plugins no longer distributed is the one thing you might consider. Otherwise if you are never going to need to check something there you can uninstall. -

Drum Replacer is present in my Region Effects menu. Can it be assumed that you have done a Reset and scan. Are the Drum Replacer files physically present on your PC? On mine, there are two folders under Sonar Resources (mine is a custom location) Here are the Drum Replacer folders are they appear on mine. Yours will be different. However this should help you locate them on your system, if present. D:\Sonar resources\Drum Replacer (this has the actual content) D:\Sonar resources\Cakewalk Shared\Shared Utilities\Internal\Drum Replacer (this has the VST3 file and graphics)

I'm working on an orchestral score that utilizes trills (primarily in the violins) and/or grace notes. How can the notes be entered so they don't sound mechanical and — ideally IF POSSIBLE — don't take up vast amounts of notes in a measure so all the other longer duration notes (quarters, half notes, whole notes) are spread out? I hope this question makes sense. Specifically I want a trill over two tied whole notes to sound like it does when a violin section plays them, not like alternating 16th or 32nd notes. Similarly, grace notes appear before the note and there seems to be a trick to entering them so they sound realistic. In this particular case, I have a quarter note, followed by two eights, followed by two sixteenth-note grace notes followed by another quarter note. It all comes out sounding like a non-distinct blurring of sounds, not like music. Help! Does anyone have tips/experience on this?

The link wasn't working in Google Chrome. When I clicked it, it would just reload the page. I switched to a different browser, and the link did successfully download with Microsoft Edge. Thanks! - Yesterday

Hi! I am a registered SONAR X3 owner, and I need the SONAR X3e Update file. When I go to the Knowledge Base support page for the SONAR X3e Update, the link to download the file doesn't work, even though I am logged in to the site with the profile that the program is registered to, and I can see Sonar X3 displayed in that account under My Products. My version of Sonar is X3, not Studio or Producer. I am also a subscriber to the new BandLab Sonar Paid Tier, and it is great. However, I have an older laptop that I use only offline as a songwriting sketchpad, and I would like my copy of X3 to continue be on it, since it doesn't require periodic activation online. I just need the bugfix file - SONAR X3e, as I'm running SONAR X3a right now, and I'd like to get the stability updates. I use BandLab Sonar in my work as a Freelance Engineer, and at my home studio for my personal projects. I am so happy that I am still able to use Sonar in my audio work - I have been a user since Sonar 1! I just prefer to do my songwriting on a PC that has no internet distractions, and I am hoping someone can help me out. Thanks!

Problems with delay per articulation feature.
Promidi replied to Nigel Simmons's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
With my test, my MIDI prepare buffer size is 50ms and I used a negative delay of -300ms and the articulation map still produced the required result. Also, please correct me if I am wrong on this one, but can MIDI prepare buffer size not be dynamic depending on the MIDI data stream? Hello , here is another dropped "d" funk instrumental. Same old instruments , acoustic/electric and lap steel. First project in "Sonar" just checking things out and trying a few different things. No static panning except for the drums and bass. Everything is moving around gently. (headphone help). This is also the first time using "channel tools" for widening or mono to stereo conversion. Special thanks to @David Baay for his comments in the tutorials section in the "converting mono to stereo thread". Anything sticking out that need attention , let me know . Hi all, Thanks for your answers on how to get it to work. Now I'm lost on what it really means to oversample. Documentation says that "Plugin oversampling allows you to 2x, 4x, 8x, or 16x upsample any effects or instruments in the project to take advantage of higher sample rate processing without raising the actual project sample rate which can increase CPU load. By upsampling only plugins that benefit from high sample rates, you can keep your CPU load down while taking advantage of any sonic advantages of higher sample rate processing. Plugin oversampling automatically upsamples the data sent to the specified plugins and then downsamples the output back to the project sample rate. You can choose to do this in realtime during playback or only at render time." In your experience, does this upsampling produce a "hearable" difference in sound? I suppose my question is "what should I expect from using the oversampling"? Thanks, Timbo

mark skinner replied to mark skinner's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
No I haven't. I must have installed it on my laptop after the update. Just finishing a project , I'll update shortly. I didn't realize there had been an update this quick. Thanks .. mark -
I have been using bandlab and Cakewalk by bandlab for sometime now, i just recently recorded 2 orginal songs and it has taken a long time, then i see that Cakewalk is going away and i have to download SONAR, its free so i did it. Nothing but problems, Then an update and now i cant even load sonar it appears at the bottom right corner of my computer like a qtr screen, i use the mouse to click on the make big square and it wont allow me, in fact i cant do anything, just keeps DINGING when i left click like something is blocking it, so i go back to bandlab and my files are still there but some removed. What is going on? I when sonar comes up in the qtr screen in cornber i cant even X ity out at all, i have to ctrl alt del to bring up task manager and end the taks to get it to go away, i tried uninstalling it reinstalling it, then the update. someone can tell me what the hell to do to get this to happen?? anything. its very stressful cuz of the time i put in on my music

Restoring the Sonar window from minimized to full?
jimlynch22 replied to Cobus Prinsloo's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
I have sonar pinned to the win 11 taskbar. When I froze Sonar with Win-M, I was able to restore it by right clicking on the Sonar taskbar icon and I got a menu with a list of recent files and an entry "Cakewalk Sonar". Clicking on that brought it back to life. -
Where is the THEMES folder located in the old Sonar X3 Studio?

They can be subtle but you can also create your own and save them. -

sjoens replied to tdehan's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
I could write one but I'm not a DAW cop 😁 Oddly there was no Theme Editor for X3 but it shows up in the menu if TE is installed.
