Christopher Shaird Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago as of late I've been having trouble finding my custom templates as I have split my installation between mainly the vital stuff on the C drive while the VSTs and extra stuff is on a separate internal drive. Somehow I have more than one template folder to deal with. Not sure if it has had anything to do with previous SONAR/Cakewalk installs, but I'm trying to make a change in a template permanent and I can't find the specific version, as I've ended up saving the same name template with essentially the same previously made settings in various areas unintentionally. I'd like the Start Screen to at the very least indicate WHERE on my computer all of the templates are (factory & custom) so I'll know where to "Save As" in the future.
Chaps Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago If you put all your templates in the folder that Sonar uses they will all show on the Start Screen in the Create window. You can change the default Template folder in Edit>Preferences>File>Folder Locations. Mine are in C:\Cakewalk Content\Sonar\Project Templates and I believe that is the default location. That seems simpler than trying to keep track of template files in multiple locations. 1
Bristol_Jonesey Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago As long as you let Sonar know where your templates are stored, they'll show up every time And it doesn't make sense to split the location between built in and custom templates Pick one location and stick to it

When saving a Project Template... After you click "Save As", navigate to the Project Template folder BEFORE you change the "Save as type" field to "Template". Otherwise, the Template will save in the Project Path that is greyed out at the bottom of the "Save As" window.
