BobXX
When first installed, Sonar starts with this default user interface / color scheme: If we compare with one of the 2 main old CbB/Platinum interface (Mercury): we can notice that the new default interface: - doesn't show buttons borders (only their labels...) - knobs are barely visible, with no enough objects/background contrast🤐. Changing the color scheme with "light" and all the others (except one) all these problems remains the same: the interface is difficult to read and very tiring. The only one... that partially solves the problems 😌: is the "Mercury Classic": similar the old CbB / Platinum "Mercury", without 3D**, but maintaining a sufficient readability. "Tungsten Classic" doesn't reach the same readability. ** NOTE: why no 3D ? Probably because the new UI is vector based, not bitmap based. This allows the UI to have new options (See last rows in the Preferences / Customisation / Display menu) to scale objects for best viewing results from little to very big monitors, maintaining the highest graphical quality. However, we can expect some improvement in the future also on "3D" point of view. If you like it, just go in the Preferences / Customisation / Colors settings, and simply set "Mercury Classic", then "Apply" and "OK: Enjoy. Sailor55
I couldn't agree more. For me, Mercury Classic is the best by far.

gmp
I'm surprised this issue still hasn't been addressed. Even if we were able to use some parts of some Color Schemes and parts of others, that would pretty much solve 90% of my issues. Some Color Schemes are ok with some areas and other ones are better in other areas. We really need a Theme Editor like we had with Platinum and CbB. After using Sonar exclusively for more than a month, I went back to CbB, so far the activation problem hasn't kicked me off CbB.
Colin Nicholls
We have been told that color customization options are "coming soon".

Isn't so bad, even if it's the only one "usable" IMHO. Edited October 8 by BobXX
gmp
Yes I've used Mercury Classic and it's good, but not so good in certain areas
AB99
I think the Bakers are working very hard on the graphics updates. And I also think it is fair to surmise that they do not want to do so in a way that creates a problem with the major audio functions of the program and the like. I do not know of any DAW that is awesome in all areas. It seems like it is "always something" with any of them. Meanwhile, we are dealing with really great people and we should be optimistic and patient, in my humble opinion. The Bakers are GREAT!
