sjoens Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Two identical wave clips with differing stats. 1. Record project mixdown to stereo track. Project>Audio>MIX, Rec (116).wav ~ length=2:35 size=43.728kb 2. Drag recorded clip to desktop to export. Desktop>MIX, Rec (116).wav ~ length=2:33 size=43.037kb Windows Media Player reports the same difference in length. 3. Import exported wav back into project to compare. Audibly and visually identical as expected. Screenshot shows end of clips @2:33:00. Now Time Line @2:35:00. No automation or anything else on tracks. Why does the exported clip report more accurate stats than the recorded clip?
mettelus Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Are there any reverbs/delays (time-based FX) active on the track in the project? The difference in length could be a reverb tail "playing through", as it were. Another thing to check would be an actual project export to desktop (rather than drag/drop) and then bring that file back in to compare versus the original.
msmcleod Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Most likely this setting: The intention of this setting is to prevent reverb/delay tails being cut off abruptly. Adjust as required.
sjoens Posted September 21 Author Posted September 21 No effects, automation, or anything else on either clip. Clips are nearly identical with no discrepancies when played together. Phase cancellation is nearly zero but not 100% so there must be some audible change to the audio when drag-exporting.
