Benjamin Tenlbham Records
I upgraded from Cakewalk by Bandlab to Sonar about 3 weeks ago and the couple of .cwp files I tested worked fine. I did one update after that about a week ago and still no issue. Today I did the 2025.08 Update 2 and now I have terrible input echo latency. In the past with Cakewalk by BL and earlier, if I had some input echo latency it was usually due to a specific plugin that needed to be disabled to get rid of the latency. Today I had to disable them all before the latency went away, but then it was gone after re-enabling the plugins. I can also do it by clicking on Bypass All Audio Effects, then clicking again to re-enable them and the latency is gone. But if I record something, then stop, the latency returns. Any ideas why this is happening after the update?
Noel Borthwick
Unrelated to this update. You have some plugin in the circuit that are exposing latency. There is no other way for latency to happen in the DAW. You will have to troubleshoot your signal path to determine what's causing the latency. In Sonar there are useful tooltips to help you find out the net latency for an FX rack or a plugin or a track/bus. Hover over any FX rack or plugin header to see the net latency. You can also see net latency on a track or bus by looking in the inspector.

Wow, that is very cool. I completely missed that being added.

Running the tranport triggers Sonar to re-calculate and apply plugin delay compensation.
