I know there are no more activations but how will I know when I'm not able to save my CBB work? Maybe it will be obvious? Sorry if this is dumb...

Trust me, you'll know.  When you go to save, computer (well, actually CbB) says "no"..

Just make sure it's not mid project and it's been a while between saves, but yeah, get Sonar Free (or get a Bandlab Membership)

Thanks i made the switch. I was putting it off bec it's disorienting at first. I can't see any plugs. I posted about that a while back & will need to look up the response.

Provided you haven't done anything daft like uninstall CbB, AND you've pointed the scanner in Sonar to the same paths then you should be good to go.

You might want to do a reset & rescan and check for excluded plugins

No I won't uninstall CBB although I could use the space, but I'm moving to a new computer soon. That's a whole different issue, not quite sure how to get sonar back. I think my plugins are okay, they just weren't showing in the little box until I resized it. Rescanning is a good idea however. Grateful to be back on sonar in a more advanced version than the one I paid for. Sonar is a much cooler name than CBB!

For a new computer what I have done is use a storage device that is big enough to copy  my old computers Program,  Program Data and Documents folders onto.

If you had own Legacy versions make sure you have the download folder for the Command Centre.

This way you can easily access a lot of your personal settings.
Also a lot of plug ins might not use installers so just copy them over.

I am also in the habit of save a lot of stuff that was in my download folder. But best to see if a plug in was updated.

For me Google is another lifesaver for a new computer. Just install Chrome and then log in. All your saved passwords and bookmarks are there.

Before you turf the old computer make sure you de authorize any plug ins that were tied to that machine.
