Anthony Smith
For instance, is Workspaces behind the pay wall for Sonar? Are there limitation in the ProChannel? Is tasks within the export function now behind the paywall for Sonar? I'm hoping to help some new folks using Cakewalk figure out the real differences (trying to invite them to TRY free tier for themselves lol like herding cats...) Canopus
57 minutes ago, Bristol_Jonesey said: This makes no mention of Workspaces, Pro Channel, Exporting That chart needs to be updated. Workspaces has a Crown symbol next to it in the last version of the Free Tier, and so has the Run Tasks button in the Export dialog. Additionally, Offline Help is not mentioned in the chart, but is currently blocked in the Free Tier. However, BandLab marketing seems to have changed their minds about that one. You'll need to ask whoever produced the comparison chart - I wasn't involved in it.

Can we get a clear explanation if those areas being behind the paywall was planned, or are a know issue that we need to report?

This is basically a peer-to-peer forum. One can never expect developers and/or support staff attending to every question raised. In fact, sometimes they do, by their own free will, but that's the exception and not the rule.

So who produced the chart Mark? Do we have to ask all of the development team, one by one? I know of about 4 or 5 of you but surely there are more.

John Vere
In the end these questions are answered by a volunteer user who will take the time to research and create a comprehensive chart. That has always been the strong point of this user forum. Staff provided what they can but don’t really have time. My personal view is if you feel strongly that the chart is of importance to the community then you should be the volunteer. In the end it is a very simple process to try out the free tier version and if you run into a missing feature you can then make the decision to either buy a membership or move on and see if there’s better value in switching over to another Daw. Everyone has totally different needs and only that person can decide what path to take. Edited July 11 by John Vere
Terry Kelley
With all due respect, the items you get if you subscribe aren’t all that big of a deal. A few are nice additions but don’t stand out as must-haves. Are those supposed make a person want to upgrade? It doesn’t make sense to me. What am I missing?

Well, some people just can't stand that 13 second wait during application startup, so there's that We are told that exciting things are in the pipeline that will be Full/Subscription only. I recommend you use the Free Tier until such time as the new features are announced, and make your decision about upgrading then. If there is one thing that is very clear over the last few years, is that there is no one strategy that BandLab can take that will make EVERYONE happy 😄 Edited July 11 by Colin Nicholls

The missing items might or might not incentivise certain users into upgrading, but equally, they're not sufficiently important to ***** prospective users who refuse to pay the sub. It's a fine line and puts Cakewalk into a very delicate position Edited July 11 by Bristol_Jonesey
gmp
Themes are not part of the new Sonar due to changes in the UI. My Theme i developed years ago did not get imported from CbB. And the preferences/colors doesn't work at all. i turned in a bug report on this one. I hope later there is a Theme editor
