Upgrade path for SONAR Platinum 2017 owner?

I purchased SONAR Platinum 2017 on Steam on April 11, 2017 for $500.  Not too long after Cakewalk changed hands to Bandlab so I migrated  over to Cakewalk for Bandlab.  Now I see SONAR Platinum is coming back.  Is there an upgrade path for someone like me who already paid hundreds of $ for SONAR Platinum?

Sonar Platinum is NOT coming back, Sonar is, and it's been available for quite some time. Over a year.

The fact you paid money to Gibson is irrelevant, if you have a grievance about this, take it up with them. It's got nothing to do with Bandlab

Cakewalk by Bandlab will no longer work sometime after August 1st, depending on where in the 6 monthly cycle your licence is, so get ready to move to something else

Your choice in Cakewalk is either Sonar Free Tier or Sonar Premium for which you pay a monthly or annual subscription

Sonar Free tier is exactly the same s Premium but with a few things locked down. These may or may not be important to you. Specifically, these are:

1. Plugin Oversampling
2. New Track Manager
3. Jump to Track
4. Elastique Pro Stretch Mode
5. POWR dithering

Yes, you're in luck: You can cross-grade to the new Sonar for only $179/year, discounted to $79 for the first year.

I took advantage of the 4th of July discount.  $79 for a year seems fair to me for continued improvement of the software.  However I think it will be $99 per year after that (not $179/year) per the order summary that said "After first year$99.00" which also seems reasonable.
