Does CbB's end mean some previous projects won't sound the same without payment?

I currently pay for a BL membership, so this question is more for those who decide not to.

The free tier of Sonar does not include Elastique Pro as CbB did (among a few other things). CbB is apparently going to completely stop working next month. If someone has CbB projects that use Elastique Pro, does this mean the only way to have these pre-existing projects sound as they did is to now pay for membership? And if one doesn't pay, the only way to open old projects is to view banner popups/ads that take up screenspace and time? (I, like some others, use Sonar for live performance, so banner ads with time-outs are a problem during a soundcheck or show). If so, that doesn't seem like the way to go. I'd think it would be better to give CbB permanent activation and have faith that the new features and fixes in Sonar will draw plenty of membership purchases regardless.

Hi Scott, 

If you are using elastic pro and have a BandLab sub it's available. If you use sonar with free tier then yes it will fallback to elastique efficient. While it's still very good for most content, it may sound different in certain scenarios. If so bounce the track or freeze it and it will obviously sound the same in that case. 

The free tier is not intended for users who are professionals using the app for commercial purposes. While you can do so you will have to live with those banners. Given that the feature set for a free product is extremely generous covered to the competition it's a small price to pay. CBB is not going to be made available and the services required to support it are not sustainable.

I understand. I was thinking more along the lines of how all previous Sonar versions can still be installed and used, but CbB cannot. So no option to simply remove all activation requirements and not offer any support for it?

BTW... Hi, Noel! So good to see you are still here after all this time. I started with Cakewalk 4.0 for DOS and used to beta test for most Sonar versions (starting with 1.0) if you remember.

P/s: I feel most comfortable playing Geometry Dash.
