Howdo I get session drummer 3 presets in new cakewalk sonar. There are no presets or sounds? I have no idea on setting this part up right?

I have downloaded the new sonar and have used cakewalk to record for many years but never really did anything with drum add ons et or midi. Mostly acoustic folk recordings. midi is a big leap for me. lol. new sonar loads okay with my old projects and works okay that way. But I go into plugins, click session drummer, midi track opens. get interface opened but no prests or drum sounds installed. As I say clueless on the midi side etc. lol

In the latest Cakewalk Product Center did you move the "Show Add-ons" slider to the right so it's enabled? image.png.0a8bad2211f08639d19580b4d0b55c8f.png

If so, is Session Drummer in the list on the right side?  image.png.9281da6d3398b8ad9bda2700a6792053.png

If so, is there an option to Install it?

If it were me I would do three things.

1: No samples are loaded in Session Drummer until you open one at the bottom left corner where it says New Program. Click that and you should get a list of available kits. Or click PROG and load a kit from there. If that doesn't work then I would try steps 2&3.

2: I would confirm that everything (Kits, Patterns, Programs) was in the Session Drummer 3 folder at C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\VstPlugins\Session Drummer 3\Contents

3: I would confirm that the Cakewalk VST folder ( C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\VstPlugins ) was in the list of folders being scanned by the Cakewalk Plug-in Manager.

Oh.  I didn't realize you had installed Session Drummer 3 already.

^^^^ Being new this step probably tripped you up (it does for many). Like a few other drum instruments, Session Drummer comes up with no default kit loaded... sure the GUI is there, but the kit is actually empty (no sounds). Just to reiterate the obvious, MIDI itself is simply note data (cannot hear anything without a virtual instrument to play those notes). Most virtual instruments let you click on the GUI (either virtual keyboard, kit pieces, or even a play/preview button), so you can test the instrument before you get into composing.
