Sonar for $49

I imagine everyone who opened Cakewalk today saw this already.  Don't complain when they discontinue Cakewalk and you didn't get on board. You now have 2 choices.

FREE or $50 bucks. Ya it still sucks it's only for a year but Sonars estimated retail value if compared to S1 or Cubase would be $300 + 

Not only that, if you truly love this Daw you might want to consider supporting it financially. 

 

I just noticed that this sub forum had most of the pinned threads removed. Sort of a hint I would think. GoodbyeCakewalk.

For the previous time this deal was announced, i had to clear my browser’s cache/cookies (Firefox) for the Bandlab website.

I then had to manually sign in, and when i checked out, the deal worked.

Hmmmmmmmm.  If this was an intentional marketing strategy (platinum --> premium), I think it evidently works!

Take note. If you are already have( had?) a Bandlab Membership you cannot get the deal. This deal is obviously targeted directly at Cakewalk users. 
I can’t see any link to it on the Cakewalk Sonar website.

Guess I should have known this since I have been here since the 90's. 

Been fine using CWbyBL, does all I need. But I figured I would check out the free Sonar.

And of course, the $49 promo disappears and turns into $99?

WHY? That's not a question really-I know by now.

EDIT:We all know the free Sonar will be going bye bye also..............

We actually don’t know much at all. Not since 2017. Hi. We bought the Software from Gibson and it will be free.
2023 June Hi we have spruced up Cakewalk and we will re name it Sonar just to cause mass confusion on the internet. We can’t tell you how much it costs but we’ll let you know when we know. 
Oh. And Cakewalk will be discontinued once you get the hang of Sonar. 

2024 - January we have great news Sonar is now available for only $149 per year. 
2024-July  Looks like no one took the bait so let’s make it $99. Or was that $49?

2025 - Gee you people still aren’t taking the bait let’s just give it to you free. 

At least it’s provided some great entertainment here n the forum . but be careful what you say. Locked threads are trending.

Yeah, I caused a few locks myself-asking questions.................All very, very confusing. So in that respect, NOTHING has changed here at CW 😉

When opening CbB I get a message about the special deal for Sonar. While it is a deal, I can't justify adding another monthly payment to my budget. Anyone who has ever heard my music knows I use almost none of the extras included in any Cakewalk program. I record, do a little mixing and that's it.
And SONAR Home Studio 6 is still working well.
But for those who go far beyond just recording, I say go for it.
