Thanks @Wookiee, may the force be with you! I tried ending the task but im still having the same issue when I open it again. Is there any delays for new users? This is frustrating. Just want to make some music.

Are you opening it by clicking on a project? If so try opening it in safe mode. Hold down shift the click on the project. Have you tried opening it by just using the shortcut without a project.

Hi, I'd like to thank BandLab and the bakers for this free version of Sonar!
Also I'd like to report an issue when moving project content by clicking and dragging in the Time Ruler.
I don't know if it's a known issue but there is a delay between Time Ruler numbers and audio / midi clips, when moving to right or left.
Thanks in advance!

Just installed.  When I went into preferences scaled up the gui to 125% and enabled GPU acceleration, every label got translated to Chinese when I re-booted Sonar.  I fiddled with the scaling again, re-booted and got Italian!  The next time after re-booting, I got Russian.  This is the most bizarre start to installing new software I've ever had.

Track Manager:

Rewriting a track manager preset does not work.

When retrieving the newly saved preset, it does not update - keep showing the original layout.

Also, creating a new preset from the track view menu does not update the presets listed in track manager when the track manager window is open.

It needs to be closed and then reopened to refresh.

You commented on another topic:

"The Free edition of Sonar will continue to show the old Track Manager dialog."

but that's not true. The Track Manager in the free edition has the crown icon and doesn't open like it did in Cakewalk.

What you say is only true for "Track Manager" in the View menu.  The old Track Manager is not a view - it's a dialog - so we show the crown in this menu only.  There was previously no Track Manager entry in the View menu.

The following will show the old Track Manager dialog:

  • Pressing "H" when the Track View (TV) or Console View (CV) is in focus.
  • Selecting "Track Manager" from the TV or CV Track Manager button context menu.
  • Selecting "Track Manager" from the TV "Tracks" menu.
  • Selecting "Track Manager" from the CV "Strips" menu

I've updated the original post to make this clearer.

Thanks but....

Wouldn't it be much simpler and more transparent for the user to include an IF in the application's business rule?

If ! SonarFree then
......open NewTrackManager
Else
..... open OldTrackManager
End if

Honestly, all these steps complicate things more than they make them easier.

I re-installed Sonar Free through the Cakewalk Product Center and the program opened in the Russian edition as before.  What should I do? Un-install, then clean out my registry?  If there is a menu option to change language editions, I can't find it because every label is in Russian.

You can change the language in the Preferences:

Press "P" for preferences, select the following (English is always the top option on the language dropdown), click OK, then restart Sonar:
