Are you opening it by clicking on a project? If so try opening it in safe mode. Hold down shift the click on the project. Have you tried opening it by just using the shortcut without a project.

Hi, I'd like to thank BandLab and the bakers for this free version of Sonar!
Also I'd like to report an issue when moving project content by clicking and dragging in the Time Ruler.
I don't know if it's a known issue but there is a delay between Time Ruler numbers and audio / midi clips, when moving to right or left.

@WookieeI am opening it using the shortcut and I'm not clicking on a project. Here's a quick video, it just does this for hours and never progresses

so when you tried to re-install the software (possibly as administrator) and rebooted the machine, what happened?

Are you able to access the menus at all in this state?

@Jonathan Sasor Yes, for example if I click file the typical drop down showing new, open, quick start .... shows but when I select new and create a new basic project I am still having the same issue, the circle keeps on spinning and I get a message in the bottom right that says opening project but it never opens

@Dao Allegro try opening in safe mode and reject all plugins, see if it loads that way. If it does it implies a broken core plugin. 

I suggest if that is the case, complete uninstall, registry clean. Cold boot of your machine and reinstall. Do you have any anitvirus or malware running?

Just installed.  When I went into preferences scaled up the gui to 125% and enabled GPU acceleration, every label got translated to Chinese when I re-booted Sonar.  I fiddled with the scaling again, re-booted and got Italian!  The next time after re-booting, I got Russian.  This is the most bizarre start to installing new software I've ever had.

I thought I might be mistaken and that I wasn't seeing the option, but now I can confirm.

I have an installation on a machine where the option to Show the video appears and another, like the one in the image, doesn't appear.

Rewriting a track manager preset does not work.

When retrieving the newly saved preset, it does not update - keep showing the original layout.

Also, creating a new preset from the track view menu does not update the presets listed in track manager when the track manager window is open. 

It needs to be closed and then reopened to refresh.
