Don't be fooled by your cat

Recommended Posts

Mine was a total pest when she was a kitten but she became the sweetest, easiest to live with. She knows what's off limit - I only need tell her once and we're good. She's 12 now, and we're like an old couple. We have our routine. I think she's a genius. I mean, look at those eyes... It's obvious that she is the brains of this operation.

Is that Rain on the right?

Yeah that's Rain on the right. That picture was taken at my wedding reception. Rain was my best man. That's me on the left and my wife in the middle. She was drunk and got topless so I decided to cop a feel. She was a real looker back then.  She drove me wild 😘

Might as well plug it... Theme song for my cat the genius, something I put together quickly before a session a few years ago.

I keep trying to fix it - there's something that sounds off when it goes from A# to C. I do not know what it is, on paper everything is in tune, but something just doesn't quite work - something's flat. I'll figure it out someday I guess. It's just a mock up bit anyway.

I think it sounds great Rain. But maybe try replacing the A# with a Bb and replace the C with a B#. That should definitely help 😁

Btw Rain, I just gave this another listen and it really does sound great. It's kinda Nightmare Before Christmas sounding. Which is very cool.

And btw, I'm a perfectionist like you but I've learned to enjoy the little human elements of my music... especially since no one else hears those little things but me anyway 😄. Seriously, we can all be too hypercritical of our own nusic.

Also, I have a great ear for pitch and nothing jumps out to me as flat here.  Whatever imperfections are there just add to the human element and originality. Rem my friend, most of today's music sucks because it's TOO perfect.  It's like taking the brush strokes out of a masterpiece...  It doesn't add emotion, it steals it away.

Anyway, I really like ur music Rain and I hope u NEVER make it perfect because perfect is f**king boring & lifeless!!!  🥱

Cheers my friend 🤙

Well I can vouch for #3. Growing up on the Bayou we often call cats "minou". French is not spoken here near as much as when I was growing up but some names and phrases are still part of the culture. I don't even speak French but I grew up hearing it all the time. U can't help but pick some words & phrases up.

I'm guessing Rain hears minou a lot in Canada. Heck Rain said he was French Canadian, He prob speaks pretty good French

I usually use "Jiiiii" (pronounced like "gee" in gee whiz, but loooong).  It's usually used to represent "staring" at someone in a manga panel, so it gets cat's attention and they stare back at me O.o   then we can begin our conversation.

When they don't just whack at me and run away....
