Shane_B. Posted May 5 Posted May 5 I'm so far behind the times. I just discovered last night that Presonus was bought by Fender a few years ago. Or if I did know before, I forgot. Nothing seems to have changed though except the push for subs, and I see more complaints about bugs and crashing. Stability used to be their claim to fame. Same thing happened with them as with others. The more features they added the less stable it became. I can remember having a hard drive crash one time and I literally ran S1 on SD cards without a hitch and the same latency as I had with my HDD. Doubt it would be that way nowadays. I guess I don't care about this stuff as much as I used to. I still have my 4 and 8 track machines, Alesis drum machine, guitars, hardware mic pre-s, hardware mastering comp, and Korg keyboard. They still work like new after 40 plus years so I'm good. 2
Notes_Norton Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Usually, when that happens, the brand is ruined. I hope this is an exception to that rule. 1

Then again, I have the "Top O' The Line" Studio Cat PlatinumStudioMAX with all SSDs

But I see a lot of reports of it in the last couple versions. I think I'm still on 4? Not sure what it's up to now.
57Gregy Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Does this mean every time I want a little reverb on a track, I have to pay someone to use it?

Well, you're at least 5 days ahead of me. I too seem to remember a time when I was up to date on almost everything, constantly looking for new plugins and new gear. Nowadays, once I'm setup, I don't want to mess up with a working configuration or to try things. I went against my better judgement last fall and upgraded Logic to try the new Quantec reverb - hosed my DAW and it took me several days to get it back up and running. And it's still nowhere near as solid as it was because I had to upgrade to an OS that sucks. 1
