The Enemy Within (s Us
Copyright (c) 2025 Edward Kocol

[Verse 1a]
Lookin' right in at me
It's the enemy within
We are born with a flame
And it's him we could've been

[Verse 1b]
So give the ghost to yourself
And to hell with all the sin
Oh we could just be someone else
'Cause the enemy within

[Chorus]
Is us, been there since the beginning
Our love, knowing we never win, it's
The enemy within is us

[Verse 2]
You could never ascend
From a place you've never been
Come on let me be your friend
'Cause the enemy within

[Repeat Chorus]

[Bridge]
Why oh why cant we see
The enemy is not you or me
Lets all be sisters and brothers
And not look upon us as others

[Repeat Chorus]

[Verse 3]
We can make it all end
Speaking plain as friend to friend
Brining back all we had then
'Cause the enemy within

[Repeat Chorus]

[Verse 4 - same as Verse 1b]
So give the ghost to yourself
And to hell with all the sin
Oh we could just be someone else
'Cause the enemy within

[Repeat Chorus]
[Repeat Chorus

Every once in a while, I like to get a "pro" opinion on my mixes of original songs I've produced (and played on).

This past Friday on the publicly open Produce Like A Pro Feedback Friday livestream on youtube, Warren Huart gave a review.

Wow this is a real power song!  The group sounds very tight, the instrumentals are great and the vocals really present the lyrics very well!

Great work y'all!!

Incredible. Right up my alley,  I’d been up banging my wotsits to this back in the day. Every element is brilliant- musicianship, singing, production. Wow 😮

I like this one, too. Pretty much everything I wrote about your other recent offering can be repeated here.
Go Cohoco!
