That said, at launch upgrade pricing from V1 to V2 was $15. I've only seen sneak peaks of v3 and on one screenshot it looked like it had multi-track sequencer, plus audio mixer at the bottom of the screen. I appreciate that they have to add value to make the update saleable, but hopefully it won't become un-necessarily resource heavy or complicated in the process. Also, I hope that they keep the focus on integration with the DAW as it's primary purpose, because with a mixer and multi-track sequencer it will bring the temptation to offer a one-stop shop utilising a DLC model to expand it's own sound library or MIDI patterns/motions. Respectfully no you can't replicate what Scaler does with some scripts in Reaper. You can potentially replicate some ideas of what Scaler 2 can do. But if you are not getting the same full blown Scaler functionality out of some Reaper scripts. I was going to say basically the same thing. @GTsongwriter made this same statement last year, eliciting the same response. A more accurate statement might have been that GTsongwriter felt no need to buy it, because Reaper scripts can already do what GTsongwriter would want Scaler to do. To me, that would be like saying "I have not found the need to buy a compressor and a nail gun because I can already do the same thing with my hammer. A compressor is so heavy and hard to lug around and my hammer is so lightweight". If that is your workflow, then fine. Without the ability to shut off or disable features this is a possibility. Melodyne is a good example of this... I went from 3 Editor to 5 Studio, and the thing that impacted me first was the Sound Editor (which I have only ever used in passing). I tend to open entire commercial tracks to view them like a score at times and the time to do so went up by a factor of 5 (from 10-12 seconds to nearly a minute for the same song). As apps become more like "their own DAW" features are enabled and running just in case someone decides to use them. There are rarely means to actually shut that processing off (requiring a restart of the app). I use anacrusis and stagger chords a lot, so trying to compose inside Scaler itself was a no-go for that. Will see what they come up with, but I wholeheartedly agree with focus on DAW integration and making that as seamless and intuitive as possible. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
