How do I get the 60% off Black Friday deal?

@audioschmaudio When I click on $71 I get; "You already have the membership", so I can't help or verify that...

If that's the case, well; what can I say.
I could cue my wife's parrotlet, Button, one of his favorite phrases (along with "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn") is; "why am I not surprised?"

when you open Cakewalk (by bandlab) the orange pop up box offers the deal at 60% off, but when you click it and go to bandlab site, no cigar.

deal is probably is on Singapore time.

2.41 am 3rd of December as of now in Singapore.

Maybe the deal is only for Americans.

Nope. I'm not in the US and I could get it if I wanted to, but not until I receive indisputable proof that hell has in fact frozen over........

fwiw, that link just takes me to a bandlab login dialog, with nothing else on the page.

which a new user wouldn't have, so they'd have to choose one of the social logins...but why would they want to login without even being able to see the page?

there is a tiny little "not now" below the other stuff in the login dialog, but i'd bet that many people miss that.

i don't know what's past that point, as i wouldn't (and won't) bother with pages or website that try to get me to login just to see or read something (even if there is a tiny itty bitty link to skip past it--the attempt to get me to login is enough to drive me away). :/

edit--same thing for the "get membership" link in a previous post on this page, though it does first show the deal offers.  but if you click one of them, it pops up a create login page first, before anything else.  i'd expect that to be the last thing, during the payment/etc process after it shows you what you actually pay and all that stuff.

so, another way to drive people like me away from the whole thing.  (not that i'm a candidate anyway, since i won't do subscription-hold-my-work-hostage-forced-update-etc-software, but i wanted to see what the issue was)

if a user has to do all sorts of gyrations that they have to come to a support forum to find out about, instead of a website (especially one selling a product) just working, the website is incorrectly designed for it's purpose.

if you make it hard, even just a little bit, for people to buy things, they will just go somewhere else.

only the very stubborn or desperate / poor will attempt to get help with a sales site offering a deal they can't access.

Hi!

We did notice a few users experiencing this issue. Ensure that you've accepted all cookies when landing on the membership page for the discount to trigger. Alternatively, try another browser and head to https://www.bandlab.com/membership to see if that triggers the discount.

Well, that was it! I disabled my AdBlocker on the site and everything went through with my existing account. You know, that's the mess we've created with elevating marketing to one of the highest goods, with Steve Jobs as the Messiah. Our world is unbearable with ads on, but doesn't work properly while blocking the normally incessant tracking.... but I digress.

Even though I do NOT want to support software that's only available with a subscription unless at least a permanently working version is the result after a certain number of months of paying, or a perpetual license is available for sale, I DID subscribe for this year as a thank you for all the good years and the free updates for the last couple. Again, unless there's an option for a perpetual license I will not be renewing.

Thanks,

R

I'm not sure that was the issue. I haven't changed anything myself on my browser but it worked here too after I tried again this morning. I believe they might simply have managed to fix the issue on their side.

Checked once more and again didn't work 😭
I don't even have an ad blocker. Deleting the cookies didn't work either. 😕

but have you clicked the "$71 on 1st year" button? It gives me this:

I think folks are getting confused by this, and consequently assuming it's a mistake.  Mine said that too, but I was still charged $71 for the first year, and it's reflected on the checkout page as payment for the first year.  Sure, listing the regular price is confusing to the user -- but it is what it is.  If you're put off by it, then you'll just miss out on the discount.  I made the purchase around 1:00 am this morning and it went through fine (confusing price listing notwithstanding).

Bottom line, I have a year's paid membership and was charged $71 USD (shown on my email receipt and Paypal activity).  My advise for those who are still interested in taking advantage of the discounted price is to just go through the online transaction and pay close attention to the final checkout page.  It should show $71 being charged for the first year.  The "regular" price listed is not relevant.  Once you're done, you can check your email receipt and credit card/Paypal, and then log in to Bandlab to confirm that you're a paid member!
