Sperry Alan
Feature request for Sonar. I have a few hundred VST's and sometimes their location isn't easily found when I want to add one. I would like for there to be a Search bar added to the top of the list pop up, so that you can start typing normal names, like EQ and only the EQ's get filtered so you don't have to dig for them. Please see the reference graphic I made. This would save time digging down for VST's all the time. Thanks! 2
Wookiee
@Sperry Alan, have you tried making a custom list? Its how I organise both my synths and FX. I would also suggest to make this a feature request in the feature request forum.
SirWillyDS12
Or you could use the "Sort by Type" feature and it will sort all your EQ's by EQ type... Or you could use the search feature in the Plug-in Browser...
Noel Borthwick
The plugin browser is where you should be searching. Menus are not designed to be searchable.

Thank you @Wookiee!, is there a youtube video or somewhere I can learn about custom lists? Also, I tried to find the feature request forum but couldn't find it earlier, can you send me a link? User 905133
In addition to the older Cakewalk by Bandlab Reference Guide, see also the newer online help system. There's an article on Using the Plug-in Manager on the Cakewalk Sonar page. PS: These are part of the How Can We Help? support help system. Oh--if you prefer the online legacy documentation, there's an index there. Edited November 30 by User 905133 to add a link to the legacy web pages; to add a PS with a link to the How Can We Help entry point
HOOK
I did request this a couple weeks back in the feedback forum. Crickets on the topic. Workflow is a funny thing. I'm sure we all do it differently...and I can't stand having the console buried under the track view. So I break it out and run a second monitor with the docker and console view visible most times. And CV is where I, long ago, developed a habit of right-clicking and adding plugins...so to search and drag all the way from the search bar in the browser is literally like 45 inches...lol. I know. First-world problems.
Bristol_Jonesey
You know you can dock the Browser anywhere you want? It doesn't have to be at the far right. And you could if you want just leave it floating. Edited December 1 by Bristol_Jonesey
Greg Wynn
I actually crank up Audiogridder sometimes because it catalogues all of the VST’s quite well and makes them quickly searchable.
