[CORRECT] Sonar X1&2: No Melodyne Region FX?

Was Melodyne not a region FX in X1 & 2?  It's in the Plugin Manager and I can insert it in the FX Bin but there's no "Region FX" listing in the top menu or clip right-click menu. Only V-Vocal.

  • sjoens changed the title to [CORRECT] Sonar X1&2: No Melodyne Region FX?

X3 also included VST3 support. Just keep that in mind if you ever get excited about backwards compatibility, especially if you have VST2 versions of the same plugins hidden. VST3 plugins will not load prior to X3.

Good to know since I think Melodyne ARA uses VST3.  Obviously I can use Melodyne standalone outside Sonar but only when necessary.  Currently I avoid VST3 if 2 is available, and I keep all included plugins installed so older projects load correctly.

This question arose when revisiting an old X1 project.  It's getting harder for older Sonars to operate correctly so I migrate projects to CbB when feasible.

FWIW ARA v1 was introduced in 2013.

Sonar X3 was the first Cakewalk product to integrate it, in 2013
