sjoens
Was Melodyne not a region FX in X1 & 2? It's in the Plugin Manager and I can insert it in the FX Bin but there's no "Region FX" listing in the top menu or clip right-click menu. Only V-Vocal. OutrageProductions
Partially because ARA2 was not incorporated until 2018.
sjoens
Thanks. Wasn't sure if I was doing something wrong. Looks like it wasn't offered until X3 which had ARA (1).
mettelus
X3 also included VST3 support. Just keep that in mind if you ever get excited about backwards compatibility, especially if you have VST2 versions of the same plugins hidden. VST3 plugins will not load prior to X3.
sjoens
Good to know since I think Melodyne ARA uses VST3. Obviously I can use Melodyne standalone outside Sonar but only when necessary. Currently I avoid VST3 if 2 is available, and I keep all included plugins installed so older projects load correctly. This question arose when revisiting an old X1 project. It's getting harder for older Sonars to operate correctly so I migrate projects to CbB when feasible. Sonar X3 was the first Cakewalk product to integrate it, in 2013 J
