Deals ain’t what it used to be!

Just saying, there are other ways to find out about deals.  Almost everyone seems to be more than happy to send out e-mails.  It is not that difficult to get on mailing lists, and have deals directed to a special folder.   Maybe it's just me, but I find it takes less time to read through the ads / newsletters / promotions / etc. than to click on post after post after post ad nauseum. Also, there's much less trolling by people who have axes to grind.

In general Cakewalk users (as well as a few others) are still posting, but it seems to be what those individuals are interested in.  JMO: I do not miss all the negativity (product-bashing, manufacturer/developer-bashing, user-bashing, etc.) at all.

So is anyone gonna post the deals link the everyone think is going to be removed?

I'm not sure it violates anything.

It was posted yesterday, I saw it here. I looked for it here today and did not see it. Draw your own conclusions.

With lots of affiliate links? No thanks.

People can submit their own deals. Not all deals are affiliate.

There is a disclosure. Nobody forces anyone to use them.

Collecting all deals takes many hours every day. It's funny how some people expect everything 100%  free.

Great atmosphere here as usual. It's probably gonna get better.

All the best!

Yeah, it’s not the same, but that’s  life. I probably will not be moving over to the other site, but I’ll definitely miss Larry, Fleer and a few others. It coincides (for a few reasons) with a lesser interest on my part in new product. So I guess we’ll  see how it goes.:)

Lets just say there are less deals posted on a daily basis here than there used to be.   A lot less.

Ah! Thank you for reply.

I thought only high-quality information was selectively uploaded. I see that’s not the case. Thank you for letting me know.

There you go with your thumbs down again. Like the last time you tried to push your site.

Somebody did post it here in this thread. And it got removed. Also, the person who started the other forum told me that some users even got banned from the Cakewalk forum for mentioning his forum. I don't know if this is true, but I'm not risking that.

Very few users post deal links to what they use. The vast majority of users don't post anything at all. Most people certainly don't click through every post either, but just skim the headlines and click on what interests them. And right-clicking and opening in a new window is quicker than jumping back and forth through emails. You also got a lot of information about plugins and their manufacturers that you didn't know about before (at least I did not). You also occasionally got discount codes that you didn't get by email. For this reason, the deal forum here was a very good place to go, because there were a few who posted a lot, from which quite a few people benefited...including me. Now that Cakewalk has reconsidered its policy, which is fine with them, things are different now. The "super deal posters" in question have gone and are now posting elsewhere. And it was clear to me that I would now bookmark this page so that I could quickly find out about the most important things. Once a day, everything at a glance, done within seconds.

So you have to look at this topic a little more deeply to do it justice...as unimportant as it is, of course.

What is at lest the name of the infamous other site, if links are forbidden for what ever reason (against forum rules or not)? Is it on Reddit? An existing forum?

Amazing. They really don't want you to know about the other forum. I just tried to post the name of the forum and it got flagged for review automatically. Didn't even contain the link.

This post here will probably get removed too. So, as I mentioned earlier, you can send me a private message if you want to know. Unless they ban me for posting about the other forum.

Is it in their sticky / rules? I don't recall ever seeing anything banning mentions of other forums? Competing DAWs yes, but not forums!
