KWILD
Some Arturia VSTis (VST2/VST3) have serious GUI issues with Cakewalk and Sonar, the GUI becomes very sluggish and the more you click, the more the sluggishness increase! The issue is not with all the Arturia VSTis/VSTs (same with VST3/VST2) for example with Clavinet V no issues, with Vocoder V the issue make the GUI completely unresponsive (the audio continues to work) but not only the GUI of the VST it's stuck, also the GUI of Cakewalk/Sonar becomes unresponsive for a while, very random, and all the clicks that you do on the GUI are executed several seconds after! After a while (several seconds) Cakewalk/Sonar GUI becomes "clickable" again, but if you don't click again over the VTS GUI of course, otherwise everything stuck again! No crashes and no hangs of Cakewalk/Sonar, the audio engine continues to work all the time. Windows 10 with latest updates, Cakewalk 2024.07 build 108 but i have the same issue even with latest Sonar 2024.09 build 105! My cpu is an AMD 5900x with 32GB Ram, the GPU is an RTX 3080 with Nvidia drivers 560.8, Cakewalk/Sonar and related VST plugins are installed on a super-fast NVMe SSD (WD Black SN750). EDIT: i forget to say that im using an Audient EVO USB soundcard in ASIO mode with latest EVO drivers. I've tried also with latest NVidia drivers (565.90) but the issue remains. The Arturia plugins are updated to the latest version available. Seems also that some VST plugins of the Arturia FX Collection 2 suffer from the same issue. After further testing, even the Arturia Emulator II V have the same issue, while the Arturia Solina V works without any issue. Wookiee
@KWILD Not seeing any issues here with standalone or in Sonar with either Instruments or FX from Arturia. I tried Analogue Lab Pro (V), CS-80 Version 4, Emulator II, and the FX Rotary CLS-222 and EFX Fragments My PC spec is in my signature however it does not include my GPU which is an Nvidia RTX 4060 using driver 31.0.15.4601 which I believe is out of date. Regarding your video driver are you using the Gaming driver? Apparently much better results than the standard one.

Colin Nicholls
Okay the last time I encountered something like this, it turned out to be a plugin that wasn't registered properly. Double-check all the VSTs in your project are authorized, authenticated, licensed-ok'd, whatever they need. Do you see this issue with a new empty project with JUST the Vocoder V loaded? Try loading each VST separately in a new project. Does the problem suddenly show up with a specific plugin? I can't remember the VST that caused the issue but it might not be an Arturia one. And I remember that it wasn't obvious and I thought it was already registered and couldn't possibly be the culprit.
KWILD
I've done some further test and the issue appears even using the ARTURIA VSTi's in standalone so is not a Cakewalk/Sonar fault! The strange thing is that the sluggishness and sometimes the total stuck of the GUI appears only in some ARTURIA products. A shortlist of what i've tested since now : Analog Lab V (5.10.5.5098) - OK ARP 2600 V (3.13.1.5024) - sluggish non responsive GUI and also the cursor disappear, while the audio still running and you can play with a midi keyboard! B3 V2 (2.9.2.5048) - OK Buchla Easel V (1.13.1.5024) - slugghish GUI then irresponsive GUI and stuck forever while the audio still running and you can play with a midi keyboard! Clavinet V (1.13.1.5024) - OK CMI V (1.13.1.5024) - slugghish GUI but less than the others and very random. CS80 V (1.9.1.5024) - OK CZ V (1.9.1.5024) - GUI stuck forever after the first click on the GUI, while the audio still running and you can play with a midi keyboard! DX 7 (1.13.1.5024) - GUI stuck randomly while the audio still running and you can play with a midi keyboard! SOLINA V (2.13.1.5024) - OK Synclavier V (2.13.1.5024) - OK Vocoder V (1.6.1.5024) - sluggish at the beginning then the GUI stuck forever while the audio still running and you can play with a midi keyboard! MINI V3 (3.12.0.3422) - OK I will try to post on the Arturia forum it's just to help someone with the same issues. Promidi
I also have ran the Arturia updates via ASC and I have no issues with any of Arturia's GUIs (including CZ V 4.3.1.5024). My PC specs are in my signature. Strictly as a test and only very temporarily, what happens if you disable your NVDIA drivers and then run a problem synth (like CZ V) Have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling your NVIDIA drivers, this time a doing clean install? Are you in a position to temporarily replace your RTX 3080, just to rule out a possible hardware issue with your RTX 3080. Yes, I know all other programs that require the NVIDIA GPU are working fine. However, Arturia might be using a section of the card that other programs may not be - and that section may be faulty. A real long short, but just to rule out that possibility. Other than that, I am quite out of ideas.... Edited October 5, 2024 by Promidi

Seems that someone in the past have issues related to the CUDA Framework, i have to try also uninstalling the CUDA stuff.

Noel Borthwick
I’m not sure if this is applicable here but we have come across some problems with certain plugins that are flooding the Windows message queue to the point where it goes unresponsive. Windows has a 10000 message limit and if the queue is bogged down more than that it hits a “fuse” and messages get lost. We actually had some bizarre problems caused by plugins doing this that we had to mitigate against in Sonar. If you can reproduce this in the standalone app, you should report it to the vendor.

Thank you Noel, already reported to Arturia, let's see, seems that their support is not very good and i can't post in their forum, even if im a customer of their products for 15 year at least! KWILD
Finally i've fixed the issue! It was enough to remove the NVIDIA drivers with DDU in safe mode and the problem is gone.
