Automation of mute not visible in console track

Question

Posted

I use a mixture of Automated Mute and automated volume to remove unwanted sections of a track.

Automated Volume changes are reflected in the console as the fader moves, however automated mutes don't illuminate the manual mute button.
While I appreciate that a manual mute is different from an automatic mute I would like to know if a track is has automatic mute applied without looking at the track's automation line. i.e. in the console view

Any tips please

I just select the track, drag across the timeline above the unwanted section, press Delete on the computer keyboard.

In addition to the above, volume automation is all you would need. When set to -inf, that is "mute." Keep things simple and just work with automated volume. @57Gregy's recommendation is even simpler (no need to mute things that are not there).

Have been trying to use the Automated Mute settings to block out sections of a track. I go thru the process and the Mute Data is recorded to the track but ..           nothing happens.. The track is NOT Muted where the data says it should?  The automated faders work normally...Any help would be appreciated...Thanks
