How can I save the (docked) Browsers Look?

Recommended Posts

HI:)

Problems with the docked Browser:

On every loading of a project the docked Browser has the divider line far to the left.

I drop it to the right to see more of the drives and folders, save the workspace, Screensets are not

blocked so it should be saved automatically.

On next startup and project load the divider line in the docked Browser is again to the left.

So, how can I save the position of this divider? It's a bit nervy to drag this line on every startup...

I f I can remember  correctly I had this problem years ago in CbB.

Thanks;)

Bassman.

Hi:)

@Bristol_Jonesey

Nope, sorry, Screensets are not locked and Workspace None doesn't work and saving a new one doesn't work either.

On loading the saved Project this divider in the Media Browser is far left, not how I saved it!

Perhaps it has to do with special User Rights on some folders and it it is not saved correctly?

P.S. If you look into the Work Space Manager, Media Broser is not in the Views List. It's also not sqaved in a screenset, if I switch screensets, the look of the media browser will be reset!

Could you please confirm?

Bassman.

I don't get this topic?

My browser have no divider line on any tab?

Only divider is at the bottom against the help window.

It would be nice with a picture to see what this is about.

Fresh Install of Sonar!

The result you can see here:

Why?? There must be any reason!

Ok, i get it now. Multidock.

I'm perfectly happy with the Default browser placement to the right.

However as shown my divider is better placed.

I can shift between top right and multidock without the divider moving to another place.

Both screensets and workspaces (none) is at their default.

I don't have any suggestion right now for a cure of your problem, sorry.

The OP's issue confirmed here.  Issue is with the Folders column. When switching to another screenset and back  again, the Folders column reverts to a 1/2 closed position without warrant.  This happen inside and  outside Multidock.  I can switch it from Right side to Multidock without issue, but switching back to Right side the Folders column closes completely and has to be reselected.

Browser has a long standing issue not displaying properly.  Getting it to behave has been a struggle so I don't even bother with it.

Floating the Browser opens another can of worms.

In SONAR/CbB Folders column has to be reselected each time the screenset is changed back or project is closed and reopened like it's intended to only be temporary no matter where it is.

You can submit a Browser bug report:  Media > Folders and Media > Show all Files and Folders does not persist when selected and the view is changed.

The PRV Track View is another one that does not stay where you put it when reopening a project.

Browser position isn't the issue.

SONAR/CbB/Sonar is not allowing the Browser to maintain the Browser > Menu > Folder view option position when saving the project or changing screenset views.

@Promidi

Doesn't matter if you lock it or not, the mixer does what you want and stays in the right position:

(I am wondering why it works for Bristol....??)

FWIW, I tested it running Sonar 2024.08 Build 019 on a Win 11 laptop

@Heinz Hupfer the easiest way to keep them for new projects is to.

1. Open an empty project.

2. Set Workspaces to none.

3. You will need to insert one track.

4. Arrange all your windows how you want them.

5. Now save this a a template.

6. In the start screen make this your default template.

7. Start all new projects with this template.

You can make other templates but always start with this one.

HI:)

Nope, doesn't work! On creating a new project with this template the media browser resets its look!

But thanks for answering;)

Ah! The browser can't make its mind up what it looks like today, or this hour or even this minute bug.

It has been reportedly was an issue in SONAR Platinum, seems a low priority bug.

Hi:)

@Wookiee

I've sent a bug report, but if it's really a longtime bug, there will be no chance to get it solved...

I have this kind of work seldom but to drag and import hundreds of small projects into a new Template is frustating when the browser on every template load resets:(

When this work has finished it doesn't mind anymore😁
