daryl1968 Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 (edited) Hi folks This one is out and out punk pop fun - Ed and me threw it together in a couple of days all told. Had a lot of fun with this one The current Mrs Daryl1968 makes a brief appearance on this one Lyrics below link Nits and crits welcome No Imagination Written and performed by Ed Kocol and Daryl Greenway With backing vocals by Liz Greenway Verse 1: Always been a simple man Doing right, the best I can Eat, sleep, work. Well, that's the plan Never gone beyond a white work van Prech Fancy cars are not my style I'll never walk the miracle mile I've aways been a simple guy and I guess that's why that I've stopped tryin Chorus: No imagination Happy with my station All I wanna do Is share my love with you It's been my foundation no imagination All I wanna do Is share my love with you Verse 2 Always been a simple soul, Day by day I play my role. From dawn to dusk, I toil and strive, In that white van I come alive. Prech Chorus Bridge: I don't have to think at all Never been against the wall My world changed because of you I'm gonna see this through with you, with you Chorus Edited April 29, 2024 by daryl1968 6 1
KSband Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 You do very good pop songs. I'm wondering if I hear some overall distortion on this, are the levels too high or am I? 2
DeeringAmps Posted April 10, 2024 Posted April 10, 2024 Did I leave a Like and Comment over to SC? You'll just have to look and see. While you're there, leave a like and comment! ?'s ? t rhyming guy and with tryin'; cleaver! another ?'s 2
Guest Posted April 10, 2024 Posted April 10, 2024 And a key change as well - what's not to like ? Great tune and I agree about the rhyming of 'guy and' with 'tryin' - as Tom observes - very clever indeed. Andy
steve@baselines.com Posted April 10, 2024 Posted April 10, 2024 I loved it - the attitude, tone, harmonies, hand claps and a modulation that works. It made me think of a video I found yesterday. It was of John and Yoko and a bunch of kids looking at the construction of a new house they were going to buy in the country near the water. This song would perfectly fit the mood of that video I think - at least I can see it all coming together in my head! 2
Lynn Wilson Posted April 10, 2024 Posted April 10, 2024 You're on a roll! I love the subtle backing vocals that Elizabeth did in this. Keep 'em coming! 2

There is a ton of distortion and nastiness everywhere on this one but I don't believe there's any clipping. 2

But just by a tad. Great song overall. Well produced and played. Singing was very good and up front. Except for the snare that I can't un-hear now!!! : ) 1 1
