user905133 Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 (edited) One article said they had plans to include a Play Mode for existing owners. If anyone finds out when they implement that, please share, and if you know, how to invoke Play Mode. I like using individual instruments to design sounds and Analog Lab V to use them (less CPU / Graphics resources), but from what I read about Play Mode, that would work very well, too. BTW, I don't know how long its been out or if others in the forum mentioned it already, but yesterday I saw there was a free 32 preset sound pack that was "new to me" (Modern Lab) . Apologies to those who already know about this; please don't take me to task. UPDATE: Modern Lab might be new. It is listed as being for Analog Lab Play. Edited November 1, 2023 by User 905133 4 2
user905133 Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 For those unfamiliar with Arturia's Analog Lab Sound Expansion Packs and where to find them Go to https://www.arturia.com/sounds Click the Instruments Tab (filters) Select the Analog Lab Play filter Not sure if the Analog Lab Play freebie installs the Modern Lab sound pack. 1 1

Awesome find, I installed it immediately! Very good presets actually. Also, just in case it was unknown, presets from other Arturia instruments also work with Analog Lab, so if you go to sounds, then press FREE (first filter option) and then select every instrument except MatrixBute, MicroFreak and PolyBrute Connect, you get a list with free presets that are compatible with Analog Lab. These are: Marc Houle's Signature: https://www.arturia.com/sounds#marc_houles_signature (does not seem to work with the url, but will show up if you apply the filters) Ariel Proksa's Signature: https://www.arturia.com/sounds#ariel_proksas_signature Past To The Future: https://www.arturia.com/sounds#past_to_the_future Lyli’s Signature: https://www.arturia.com/sounds#lylis_signature Iconic Vibration: https://www.arturia.com/sounds#iconic_vibration Percussive Drive: https://www.arturia.com/sounds#percussive_drive And of course the free Analog Lab presets: Vintouch Vol 1: https://www.arturia.com/sounds#vintouch_vol_1 JSPA: https://www.arturia.com/sounds#jspa A couple of 3rd party free ones: Spores: https://shop.whoisjbeats.com/products/spores-analog-v-preset-bank-40-presets Amiriaga: https://shop.whoisjbeats.com/products/amiriaga-analog-v-preset-bank-midi-kit Iridescence: https://jukeboxjuice.net/blog/free-analog-lab-preset-bank-iridescence-14355 and for a limited time free (another 9 days) on VstAlarm (I think it has already been posted here before), Orchid: https://vstalarm.com/product/orchid-analog-lab-bank-by-audio-juice-limited-time-free/ and finally Vicious Antelope has many free Arturia (and others) presets: https://www.viciousantelope.com/presets-for-synths?Pack+Type=Free+Preset+Packs I couldn't find a setting to change the GUI to the new Play Mode though. Maybe for the time being, the only way to get the new GUI is downloading and installing the free version I guess, but I haven't tried that. Also while browsing the free Analog Lab page, I saw this preset pack: https://www.arturia.com/support/analoglabplaydownloading#starcadians_signature which doesn't have a price, so maybe it is also free, but does not seem to be working at the moment, maybe it is an upcoming one? locrian Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 So, "Analog Lab Pro" is the new name for the old "Analog Lab"?

It's even easier than that. Right inside Analog Lab you click on "Store" and then on "Free". It will show you all free soundbanks that you can use in Analog Lab and allows you to download it directly from there. There's another cool feature that I personally only realized rather late, and I have no idea how well known this is. I can imagine that it's often overlooked: You can preview most soundbanks that you don't own by clicking on them in the store inside Analog Lab. You can use any preset that isn't marked with a lock as if you owned it, by playing MIDI files or your MIDI controller. You just can't save the preset. 6

Yeah--I downloaded it, looked in all the menus, search where I thought it might be in the documentation (missed it if its there), etc. But I didn't think to click the X. It was staring me in the face the whole time!!!!! LOL ?
trager Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 Sorry if I’m being dumb, but is Analog Lab Play supposed to register to your account like their other plugs do? I followed the link above without being logged in, and clicked Free download, and it didn’t prompt for a login – it just took me to a page with links for the installer downloads. So I logged in and went back through and the same thing. Nothing’s showing in the My Products page – is it on its way there?
Solidos Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 (edited) @trager I did the same first and thought it was odd that it just started downloading a ZIP file so I canceled that and opened up the Arturia Software Center, installed Analog Lab V and was then prompted in the plugin to activate Analog Lab Play. Worked well. It then also shows up as registered in your account. Edited November 1, 2023 by Solidos 1
JoeGBradford Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 Is Play a reworked version of Lite? Does it have the same sounds? It looks like it but not certain from the video I have seen
Keni Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 Yeah, I ran into all of the above.... It seems Play is replacing Lite and being renamed ans Analog Lab V while Analog Lab V is now Analog Lab Pro I too found it strange that the new "Play" which is only called Analog Lab inside, not Play or Lite, is not included in Software Center. I'm guessing it will move into there if upgraded to Pro? Very odd. It doesn't show anywhere in the Arturia online account (my account). It shows Analog Lab 4 here, but that loads as Lite... Confusing all the way but some great sounds, yes?

It request a login or require you to create an account when you start the application. It request you to enter an email address and password. Edited November 2, 2023 by jesse g
