Project continues beyond the end, some kind of lanes show up in bus tracks

There's an old post on how to fix this problem using ripple edit and that usually works for me but it's not this time. I usually have bus tracks hidden but when I showed them today, there are some kind of automation lines or something on bus tracks that continue way beyond the end of the project. Does anyone know what they are and how to get rid of them? Thank you

It is pretty easy to create volume autmation. Open the automation lanes and volume automation is created automatically.

To delete any automation envelope from the automation lanes, right click on the envelop to bring up its context menu and select Delete Envelope

Sorry I forgot the screenshot, here it is. But now it's stopping at the end for some reason! What are the lines in the bus tracks? Maybe they're always there since I never look at bus tracks? thanks.

They look like waveform previews. Expand the bus to see the preview widget, and toggle the widget off to clear the waveform:

The screenshot in the documentation shows the preview waveform in green, but the default is orange.
