Notes_Norton Posted October 18, 2020 Posted October 18, 2020 (edited) Tchaikovsky: Symphony No. 6, 'Pathétique' - Cleveland Orchestra: George Szell conducting Tchaikovsky said he wept while composing this, and died 9 days later. Cause of death is suspected to be suicide by drinking water infected with cholera. If that's true, it's a huge case of depression. The music is dark and brooding, sometimes depressing and in some parts also very beautiful. I haven't heard George Szell conduct it, but he was one of the great conductors of the past for romantic era music so I suspect it'll be nice. Edited October 18, 2020 by Notes_Norton

Although it definitely doesn't count for all (of either genre), I tend to put most Country and Rap into the same category: CRAP. That said, I probably like more genres than almost anyone else you'll meet! ? 1
Notes_Norton Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 (edited) There are only two kinds of songs: 1) Songs I like 2) Songs written for somebody else I like from some to a lot of just about any genre. Least favorites are Rap and Heavy Metal. I get bored quickly, but still there are a few gems in both of those genres. Whenever i hear a rap "song" i get this thought of -how lazy can a musician get? ?
