sadicus Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 (edited) Looking how to set up a way to have Stream Deck run a Cal Script. Right now it just want to open Cakewalk, yet it's already open. Edited April 15, 2023 by sadicus
tulamide Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 I don't have a Stream Deck. But naturally I would ask, if it is able to record and run a macro? That's the only way I see to get it that deep into Cakewalk.
msmcleod Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 CAL scripts can be bound to keys (or MIDI notes) in Key Bindings - so the easiest thing is to bind the key first, then get stream deck to invoke it. 1

I did not know that. Can you elaborate more on how to do this "trigger".
sadicus Posted April 12, 2023 Author Posted April 12, 2023 Was able to make Key Binding in Cakewalk "Run Cal" but not yet figured out a way to run a specific script.

My first understanding is that it would be possible to EXECUTE A SCRIPT CAL from MIDI events, as a form of TRIGGER. Something more AUTOMATIC than the user PRESSING KEYS for execution. Example: Sometimes MIDI notes may be duplicated. I have a CAL script that CLEANS DUPLICATE NOTES. So I figured this script could run automatically whenever I duplicated a note. 1
